Seriously!!! My old roommate used to bitch me out because I didn't jump on the chore wagon after working 8+ hours with 2 hours commute time. Fuck that. I worked all damn day and I want to relax! This shit can wait a day or two or until the weekend when I got time to get to it! OMG...I had a roommate like that...drove me NUTS She'd leave little notes on the back of the toilet and shit...I was like 'I will do it on my day off...sheesh...chill out already' It was really great to get those notes after I got done working a double...made me just get overwhelmed with joy

I haven't followed it close enough to even know who's playing in each conference. But the Pistons are kickin' some ass so I'll probably cheer for them

I have learned to embrace my laziness. For I am, by nature, lazy. I have incorporated my laziness into my spiritual practice. Didn't someone in Genesis dictate that we take a day of rest? In order to structure my laziness, one day each week. I pull the plug. It's supposed to be a day of reflection -- no emails, no phone calls, no work. Maybe a walk through nature, a couple hours of meditation, reading elevating books. But hey, even those things take effort. Sometimes I sleep. I've been known to lay in bed for 15 hours straight. Just for fun.

I'll go an entire weekend without doing anything productive and spend the whole time agonizing over it. It would be cool if I at least had some fun. During the week I don't have this problem since I have to be out anyway. It's gotten to the point I just plan to do one or two things on the weekend. That way I'm not too disappointed when I fail to do them.
I better amend that. I admit I do have fun but not as much as I would if I weren't thinking of what "needed" to be done. [Edited 5/9/06 18:45pm] That's a big one too, beating myself up for what I'm not doing - it's so damn goofy I've been doing so for a few hours now I should do like you & just set a few goals at a time so I'm not disappointed 1/2 way through the iced coffee, still not motivated Planned underachievement is what I call it. (premeditated failure is a little harsh).

Maybe later in the week I should do this relaxation thing right - schedule a massage Buy a big box full of safety pins...when you take your socks off, pin the toes together before you toss them into the hamper to be laundered! It's a lot faster/easier to un-pin the pair to put then on than it is to match the socks in order to put them away.

I washed one load of clothes, ate, watched tv, sorted some old clothes to sell/donate. Now the playoffs are on so I won't be good for anything for another few hours - then the day will be over. I didn't even exercise. WTF? Do you accomplish something every day? Do you forgive yourself when you don't? I gotta learn how to relax But think of all the stuff I could get done while I'm relaxing!! man, there are days when i don't do anything at all. and then i go and treat myself to McDonalds meals to comfort myself for being a lazy whore all day long. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps
