Share a story of your childhood........

Being a kid was great, life seemed to go on forever and so did the days !! Nothing scared us....we would dive off furniture with the same insane resolve as Evil Knievel lol never tired, buzzing around like Bee's on Speed.

Some of us will have driven our parents to the point of insanity with all the manic and lunatic stunts we had hidden up our very short sleeves.....What was your's??

Heres Mine:

Up until I was 5 years old we lived just off the M6 Motorway in Leyland, Lancashire. However, when I was just over 3 years old I managed to escape the house, without my mums knowledge, I scurried down our drive with my Tricylcle to hand and headed off into the sunset. Wearing only Nappy and Socks I peddled my way onto the Slip Road of the Motorway - Into the oncoming traffic (Traffic that was coming off the motorway). Apparently, from my mums recollection I was spotted by a passing Police Car, whom quickly apprehended my ass !!!

My mum takes great privilidge in telling all and sundry of this tale !! .....

Shortly after above event I dived off the Chair in the Kitchen and Fractured my collarbone.....he lol he.....My poor, Poor mother..... lol

Anyone want to share ??

Um...well, once when I was maybe 7 years old I got lost in Chicago while visiting a family friend...I went riding my bike and for some weird reason became completely disoriented when trying to just go around the block. I was lost for like 30 minutes or more, just kept riding around, getting scared shitless but at the same time more afraid to show it..lol...I finally somehow made it back to the front of our friend's house, and when I rode up the police were there and my mom screamed out loud crying and running over to me.. sad I felt stupid and guilty as hell after that, and just mumbled to her "I got lost" and started crying too...lol bawl

I was a child that saw adventure in everything. My fantasy was overflowing. My father ran the community center for the church and the building has a stage AND stage attic, where they kept the props...

I would be up there for HOURS, being Roman or a viking. That attic still holds magic for me, but even though it's still there, I would NEVER want to be on that stage ever again, afraid of ruining beautiful memories with my dulled down mature brain.

I remember when I was very little I would hold on to my mother's skirt whenever she took us shopping because she was a very fast walker, and that was the only why to keep up with her.

I also remember in my first day of pre-school. Both my sister who's eleven months older (my parents were horny toads) and I started in the same class. I loved it! I walked in and ran right to the sandtable and started playing. Unfortunately, my sister wasn't as thrilled with pre-school and cried and screamed until my mother took us both home. I remember slapping her silly in the car.

When I was in the 5th grade, I borrowed my mom's duffle bag to put my gym clothes in (my bookbag was overpacked). She used it to stuff her own things in when she went to work. Later that day at school, all of the boys in the 5th grade were in the locker room after gym class showering and changing and they started playing keep away with people's shoes and shorts. Someone grabbed my half empty duffle bag and started to toss it about..... and 2 Tampons flew out of the bag!!!! omfg

They teased me and called me Tampon boy for weeks. It took me a long time to recover from that one. My mom told me she was sorry a hundred times, but it still wasnt enough. neutral

when i was about 5 or so my sisters were babysitting me. my older sister ( 12) liked to tease me about making me eat stuff (grape bubble gum was made of spider eggs of course) and i was sure that as soon as my parents were gone she intended to tie me up to the bed and make me eat luncheon meat. (being veggie that terrified me)

i snuck out of the house and planned my escape. living on the farm i had about a mile and a half to get to the village where two of my aunts lived. i was sure i was going to be spotted when in reality my sisters hadn't even noticed i was gone.

the scariest part was crossing the highway. i remember standing at the edge of the quiet road looking both ways over and over again before getting the nerve to run across it. before i got to the corner of the road that took me down into the village a man stopped his vehicle. he looked kind of familiar but i didn't know him.

having been well versed on "don't talk to strangers" i turned down his offer of a ride and told him as politely as i could
"i'm sure you are somebody's friend but you aren't mine." smile it turns out that it was a neighbor's son. his mother took great joy in repeating that line over the years.

once i got to town i had to decide which aunt's house to go to. i remember thinking aunt "e" would be much more cross with me than auntie "m" and still it took me a long time to gather the courage to knock on the door. after the inital questions of how did you get here and where are your sisters i was allowed to play with the g.i. joes and have a peeled apple for a snack. that was a treat smile mom didn't peel my apples.

bless my mother though she didn't yell at me. apparently when i went to bed that night i asked mom if god still loved bad little girls. she replied yes he does, even bad little girls that run away from home. eek and that was the end of that.

I grew up in a house void of intamacy.
When I was a baby, I cried alot: http://img.photobucket.co...baby01.gif
Though I do remember laughing too. My father met my mother in Karat Thailand, and the story of their marriage and first 2 years of my life is extremely contradictory depending on the sources you go to (my often dishonest Aunt who likes to add things to stories to make them more interesting, and my often dishonest mom who is a treasure chest of secrets).
When I was 3 or 4, my family moved from Thailand to the Island of Saipan where I lived until I was 7. Some of my best and scariest memories come from this period in my life.
It was the first time I witnessed a Typhoon, an adult crying, the slaughter of a pig, the death of a dog by men with clubs. It was also the first time I discovered my father's porn stash and developed a curiosity for the naked human form, both men and women.
My fondest memories of this period is sneaking away from the neighborhood and walking this secluded trail (About a half mile long) down to a secluded beach once occupied by the native chamorans who still lived in Saipan. The beach was a wonderous place with caves, and stone statues and dwellings long ago abandoned, and the water would crash against the distant reef rather violently. It was beautiful.
Some of my worst memories were my father Smashing his plate into a bowl of green beans during Thanksgiving dinner becuase he was pissed off that my mother didn't understand the concept that the dinner needed to be something special--something better than the average dinner. We sat silently (I was afraid of him at that time) and watched him storm away from the table to sit his fat lazy ass on the living room couch and watch T.V. It hurt me becuase my mother spent a good deal of time preparing the meal. I remember all Thanksgiving dinners after that being huge extravagent ordeals.
Also at night, I remember lying in bed hearing them curse at each other often. This changed completely when we moved to America. My mom's isolation in the states cuased her spirit to bend to his will. As I grew older in childhood I became aware that she didn't much care for her kids either.

Well, that's just some of my childhood. lol

I was 6 and was the leader of the gang of kids in our cluster of townhouses. The 2 boys from next door did everything I told them to lol Anyway, one day we found a bag of cement outside somebody's front door. I could read and knew what it was. I got the boys to drag it down to the sandpit where we ripped it open and mixed it up with sand and water.
First we concreted the sandpit, then my bike, then we wrote out names with it on the dark asphalt driveway and lastly, the icing on the cake, we made handprints on the brand new alfa-romeo belonging to the people who's cement it was.
That evening while I was having my dinner there was a knock on the door. I was sent to my room and could see out of my window my mum and the boys' mum on their hands and knees scrubbing the driveway.
I spent the next day in my room.
Luckily the man with the alfa had just waxed his car and it washed off with the hose. woot!

I actually remember this, surprisingly...when I was three I got into my mother's bright red nail polish because...well...I wanted some on. To be blunt, I made a mess and I remember thinking, "Wow, how am I gonna clean that up?" Then I got caught...which was interesting too, but not half as interesting as half my hands being bright red. But now it's one of those things I laugh about because I really wasn't a bad kid (mosta the time, haha)...but I really wanted that nail polish, lol. biggrin

A while ago I went back to the Village I grew up in - I walked around my old "Haunts" where as kids we had played, amazingly after over 20 years very little had changed. Even the old wooden bridge was still there, we used to dangle over the edge and see who could hold on the longest before falling into the Stream below !!!

We lived in an area surrounded by Farmland, so adventure was never far away, when ever I see the movie "Stand By Me" it always brings back some wonderful memories of that era of my life - A bunch of Kids just wandering off into the world, even though only for a few hours !! biggrin

From ages 2 to 6 I lived in a hollowed out tuna carcass selling bone jewlery and oils.

At 7 I met a man named Tony M. who some of you may be familiar with, and we started our storybook romance soon afterwards.

Now I live in a tree, and Tony M. lives in a cardboard box next door. Life is good.

My Mum and Dad had some wooden doors in the garage that they were going to put in the kitchen. Being young and foolish I thought it would be a hilarious idea to smash a number of big holes in it with a mallet. I remember I was laughing like a demon once I was doing it and then it dawned on me...FUCK!...WHAT...HAVE...I...DONE. eek My Dad naturally gave me a right, royal bollocking. I cried and he forgave my stupidity.
