Would This Piss You Off?

Just after ten p.m., my mobile phone bleeped to tell me that a friend had called me at 07.45pm but I'd missed the call. I didn't even get the call. My mobile phone's reception inside my flat is virtually non-existent. I can get a weak signal if I sort of wave it about in front of my living room window's blinds. I've told my friends countless times to just call my land-line, instead of trying my mobile first...

Well, I've wanted to go out all day but nobody's phoned my land-line or called around. I don't call any of my friends at the weekend as I realise that they have wives, partners, ex-wives and children to spend time with. I just wait for them to call me. So when I got the call (albeit just over two hours later), I was sort of happy somebody had phoned. I realised that it was probably too late to go out and meet the friend who'd called me, but I phoned back anyway to acknowledge his original call...

The conversation went like this...

Hellooooo?
Um. Hiya. You sound drunk.
...
You phoned my mobile earlier but my phone's only just bleeped to tell me that I had a missed call. You know that I have no reception in the flat. You should have phoned my land-line.
I didn't phone you.
Yes you did. Just before eight p.m. My phone said that I had a missed call.
Oh...
So didn't you want me? Are you in a pub? It sounds like you're in a pub...
No, I didn't want you. I don't want you.
What?
See you later. Cheerioooo!

:click:

It's really pissed me off.

I guess he was just drunk and thought he was being funny, but I didn't like his tone.

maybe the guy made the call by accident, it happens all the time.....and by blunty asking him if he doesn't want you, you gave him the opportunity to say it like that..... you called that one off yourself.....hate to say it!

I had a housemate who would forget to lock her mobile when she went partying, I was forever answering the phone at 3am just to hear what is sounded like in her handbag.

Due to my initials my name is on top of friends' phonenumber-lists most of the times.....I get calls a lot of times, hearing nothing.....sometimes i also get texts that are not meant for me, which is sometimes funny!

It's very rare that his mobile is switched on when he's out drinking. He only turns it on intermittently to make outward calls, so that his wife can't call him to ask when he's coming home. I didn't expect his phone to actually be switched on. I fully-expected to just leave a voicemail. He must have gotten a babysitter and gone out with his wife, after I failed to respond to his earlier call.

He pissed me off on Friday but I couldn't say anything to him as his son was with him and another friend's kids were in the car. The two things combined have pissed me off.

I'm not seeing him. But yeah, it is the same bloke I was going on about the other week. He's like a Jekyll and Hyde character when sober and drunk. I can't cope with it.
