16 year old Michelle Wie from Honolulu has written history by qualifying herself as the first woman in 61 years into the men-finals of the highest levels of the sport.
She ended up in Korea on rank 35, among the best of the best. It's great to see that a girl finally breaks through in this male-dominated sport (which I love!).

The Asian Tour's number 1 last year was a Thai player, Wiratchant (who'll be playing in the British Open), and on this leaderboard above you can see some other very good Thai golfers. I don't know about her sexual orientation but by playing the PGA and LPGA tours she's got both options covered.

People are definitely expecting big things of her. I'm glad she made the cut on the mens tour. She just needs to win an LPGA event and a little more pressure will be off. She's clearly a prodigious talent, but with all the expectations it could be difficult to do the great things expected of her.

Sure is. When I was 16 I was playing football with my mates and doing my GCSEs, not playing golf professionally and with seven digit sponsorship deals. Kids these days are so spoilt.

She was a real chubby kid when she started playing though. She must've had a major growth spurt. I think she's actually been pretty much this tall for a couple of years, so she wouldn't been huge as a 14 year old. Certainly an advantage in her sport, though there's more to her game than big hitting.
