Organizing Volunteers Hi Kids,
We're making a volunteer survey at my work, to find out how often, and what kinds of activities folks would be interested in doing, and I need some ideas, both for the activities themselves, and ways to organize them. Here's what I got so far: Environmental clean ups (beach, canyon, etc.) Habitat restoration Humane Society/Animal shelter sorts of things. Senior/youth/women's/lgbt services Food/clothing drives church services- these are tremendously varied, and can include all of the above. We once did a volunteer stint at a chruch for their fashion show/soul food lunch, and I'm not even sure how to describe that sort of activity succinctly. I kind of have these grouped into Environmental and Social categories, but if anyone else can think of a way to divide them, or other categories I should be including, I'd love to hear it. Thanks, if only for reading. Squeak

Labor Intensive Non Labor Intensive Habitat Resoration Humane Society Food Clothes Drives Senior/youth/women's/lgbt services Cleanups church services Not everyone can do the labor intensive. Visiting hospitals/elderly, etc might be more suitable does that help?

to sort out paperwork and make files and sort them. i doubt that anyone else would like to do that though and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

They would send out a search party for me, and I would be all, " What do you mean I've been here for 14 hours? It isn't lunch time yet!" People would wonder about you in hushed tones and leave food for you. I would never quit a job like that.
