Dune by Frank Herbert... I'm really liking it.
So far it reminds me very much of Asimov (Robots...Empire...Foundation novels... the Empire novels in particular)

I'm reading three books at once, in addition to Bible Study (Romans 8 )
"I Am Charlotte Simmons" by Tom Wolfe. It starts slow, but his novels usually do. "Until I Find You" by John Irving. His stuff is sooooo incredibly funny. He's probably the funniest novelist I read, with Elinor Lipman coming in a close second. Finally, "Paradise" by Toni Morrison. TM's the bomb. I won't be surprised if I pause on the others and just run with this one.

just today finished "Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt" by Anne Rice. Can't wait for the next one to see what happens to this kid!
Actually, it was really interesting to hear the Christ story from the perspective of the Christ child, who is just learning who he is and his destiny. My first Anne Rice read, and I loved it! and this weekend I re-read "Slowness" by Milan Kundera. ahhh.... I soo soo sooooo love this book! It's an interesting commentary on the cult of celebrity and the need for speed in modern society, told thru three intertwining stories, one of which includes the author as himself. GO, READ IT! "Dear Sir, we cannot choose the era we are born into. And we all of us live under the gaze of the cameras. That is part of the human condition from now on. Even when we fight a war, we're fighting it under the eye of the camera. And when we want to protest against anything, we can't make ourselves heard without cameras. We are all dancers, as you say. I would even say: either we're dancers or we're deserters. You seem to regret, dear sir, that time marches on..." http://elmadartista.tumblr.com/ http://twitter.com/madartista
