life is a mystery sometimes..all the time

my next door neighbor..I saw him last two weeks ago..he was suffering from a cough, and a bad hip..long story short, he was diagnosed with lung cancer, which metastisized into his bones, and brain...lost the ability to speak last week, and tommorrow I'm going to his funeral. He was in his 80's, but a sweet man. I can't believe how fast he deteriorated.
Of all my anxieties, getting cancer is the worst
thanks for listening

my granpa was the same, he had cancer of the lungs...he had it long before he was diagnosed be he was still working in construction, jumping off trucks n stuff, @ 80 even...
the only reason he found out was because he broke his arm...when he went to the hospital, that's when he was diagnosed...he was hospitalized the next day
he just shut down so quick...
it was horrible to see...

hug im sorry for the loss rose

sad
like our friend with cancer of the liver - 6 months ago he was still doing building and carpentry, and was a strong beefy guy. a couple of months later he lost a lot of weight, was diagnosed and within a few weeks lost all will to live. He was only 60.
Maybe that's why it goes so fast when people don't want to fight it? neutral

Well, my whole view on this is it's kind of nice that it went fast for him. Suffering is no way to live. Sorry buddy.
