Do you ever wish you had a pet robot?

Maybe like a person-shaped robot or one shaped like cute little kitty... meow! It would be great because you could play with it and stuff and not have to worry about cleaning up poop. Also, you don't have to worry about anyone eating it.

Sony AIBO!!!!

The pearl white ERS-7M3 is the latest AIBO®, a highly evolved, comprehensive product offering the greatest degree of autonomous behavior and functionality yet to be achieved by Sony. It is supplied with a full range of accessories that allows for both the joys of raising a robotic pet alternative, and the satisfaction of useful functionality.

Product enhancement has especially been achieved in the areas of location mapping using short term memory, verbal communication in English (understands Spanish, too) and functional internet reading using wireless LAN connectivity with PC.

In autonomous mode, the ERS-7M3 has increased pet-like actions and motions with distinctive personalities depending on how you interact. It walks fluidly, plays with its Pink Ball or AIBOne, sits, lies down, and even self-charges. It uses its Illume-Face, MIDI sounds, voice communication and lovely motions to express a wide variety of emotions and instincts to entertain you. The ERS-7M3 pays special attention to 3 owners and remembers its favorite place thanks to voice and visual recognition technology. The ERS-7M3 has newly featured short term memory, or STM, to temporarily remember the locations of its energy station, human faces, walls or pink ball and AIBOne. STM enables AIBO’s reactions and movements to be faster and more clever.

Using your PC and wireless network with AIBO Entertainment Player version 2.0 PC based software, “Navigator”, “Player”, “Scheduler and Diary” functions* can be enjoyed.

In Navigator, you can either remotely control or monitor autonomous ERS-7M3 while viewing the world through AIBO’s camera. House sitting mode allows you to record video from AIBO while you are away. AIBO MIND Scope shows you what AIBO sees on the Navigator’s main screen.

In Player, AIBO plays your favorite music files, audio CDs and internet radio as a dancing speaker. AIBO also reads news or weather forecast information from popular websites. In Scheduler, AIBO will inform you of your appointments by synchronizing with your Microsoft Outlook schedule. AIBO, in Diary, will keep a diary with pictures everyday, and you can have AIBO read the diary or even upload it to a blog.

With the AIBO EYES function, you can wirelessly view pictures AIBO takes and send e-mail commands to have AIBO play pre-recorded messages and songs to others at home.1

• Autonomous Mode With supplied AIBO MIND 3 autonomous software, you can immediately interact with a mature ERS-7M3 or you can reset it to its puppy stage. (You can reset to puppy and adult stages as many times as you want.). It has increased pet-like actions and motions for more natural body language. ERS-7M3 understands 100+ English words/phrases and about 30 Spanish words, speaks approximately 1,000 English words in Voice Communication mode, has charming and loving characters/motions, remembers locations of walls, faces, energy station and favorite toys (pink ball and AIBOne), pays special attention to 3 owner’s faces and voices, as well as a favorite place in your home.

45 multi-color LEDs allow ERS-7M3 to better express its emotions and what it is thinking. These LEDs also indicate the status and function of ERS-7M3. For example, you can easily recognize the wireless LAN connection status or guide yourself through ERS-7M3’s Clinic Mode. Illume-Face (using 24 of these LEDs) provides a completely new way for ERS-7M3 to show when it is happy, sad, angry, surprised, etc. Tactile touch sensors on the back, head, and chin allow for more organic interaction, and also contribute to ERS-7M3’s growth development.

ERS-7M3 loves its AIBOne (supplied plastic bone), and can bring it to you on command. Of course, it loves its supplied Pink Ball, too. And ERS-7M3 self-charges on its energy station when its battery gets low.

The Dancer function enables AIBO to automatically detect the beat of music and dances along.

With Visual Pattern Recognition technology, ERS-7M3 has self-charging capability and interacts with its 15 AIBO Cards. AIBO Cards (credit card size) are an entertaining tool that allows you to issue commands, change ERS-7M3’s settings, modes, etc.

AIBO Entertainment Player Version 2.0 (AEP 2) 2 AEP 2 has 3 functions: Navigator, Player, and Scheduler/Diary. All functions have enhancements from the previous version. In Navigator, you can either control remotely or monitor autonomous AIBO, have AIBO take pictures, listen to what AIBO is hearing, and have AIBO talk using text to speech functionality. Main screen of Navigator enables you to check what AIBO sees, maps or its emotions (AIBO MIND Scope). In Player, AIBO will read your favorite news or inform on weather forecasts from popular websites, using RSS technology. You can also have AIBO play your favorite music (audio CD, MP3, WMA, WAV, and internet radio) as a dancing speaker. Powered with Visual Pattern Recognition technology, AIBO can memorize and link any visual pattern to any music or action. For example, when you show a CD cover, AIBO can play that music wirelessly. In Diary, AIBO will be synchronized with your Microsoft Outlook schedule, enabling AIBO to inform you of your appointments. In addition, AIBO takes a picture and adds notes to a Diary. You can have AIBO read the diary or even upload to an external blog site.

• AIBO EYES Function 2 Wireless LAN capability allows you to view AIBO’s Photo Album (up to 10 pictures) that the ERS-7M3 has taken, 3 owners’ faces, AIBO's favorite place and a picture that AIBO takes everyday.. Photos are JPEG format (416 x 320). Sending e-mail commands to ERS-7M3 allows it to play pre-recorded messages or songs to others at home, take pictures on command and automatically e-mail them back to you. Photos are in 208 x 160 pixels JPEG format when they are sent.

AIBO WLAN Manager 3 Wireless LAN capability allows you to view AIBO’s Photo Album (up to 10 pictures) that the ERS-7M3 has taken, 3 owners’ faces, AIBO's favorite place and a picture that AIBO takes everyday..

• AIBO Custom Manager 3 PC-based AIBO Custom Manager 3 software (will be available free from the Learning Center) allows you to customize your ERS-7M3. For example, the start-up sounds can be changed and games can be added.
