Whats the deal with Microsoft this tuesday?

I was listenin to the radio saturday mornin and caught the tail end of the news talking about how Microsoft is adding an update to XP this tuesday that will shut down everyone that carries illegal versions/programs of microsoft/and or/ Microsoft XP..

someone fill us in..

The Windows Genuine Validation update that they had just recently takes a tougher stance on illegal copies, but it doesn't shut them down...just adds constant popups and reminders that your copy is invalid. If you have an illegal copy and you don't want this issue, then just don't download the update. Simple as that.

It's better to have a valid copy anyway. Running an illegal version would be a bit scary. boxed
