So Long And Thanks For All The Fish

Just finished re-reading the first four books in the Hitchhiker's Guide trilogy (the last time I read them all was at age 10), and I was surprised by how much I liked So Long And Thanks For All The Fish, as random and different as it was, with no explanation of some major plot points (why was the Earth back again, how come Fenchurch could fly etc.) - I am going out at lunchtime to buy a second hand copy of Mostly Harmless, the fifth book (the only one I never bought - I read a library copy last time). Someone remind me - do Zaphod and Trillian return?

I haven't read this for AGES, the only thing I remember is that Arthur meets his daughter. Or am is that in So long and thanks for all the fish?

Actually, before I even comment, maybe I should re-read the books myself.

Have your read Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency and The Long Dark Tea-time of the Soul?

It's in Mostly Harmless (I read the back cover the other day)

I'm not sure I ever finished the first one, but I got it out again recently - I'll start reading it once I'm done with Mostly Harmless, since I'd probably enjoy it much more as an adult than as a child.

Yeah, I think you get much more of the humour etc. If you like those, you should try reading Robert Rankin - Armageddon the Musical and the others in that series. Very good
