Windows Media Player (and hair!) Anybody know how to fastforward on this thing (and I don't mean skip ahead to the next chapter, I mean actually fastforward)? [Edited 4/27/06 18:53pm]

I'm not sure you can. I even tried to use snagit32 to capture a still from WMP but couldn't. This seems to be true with Reaplayer too Maybe it has something to do with the video codec moreso than the player. WMP has way to big a memory stamp for me to like it. Even RealonePlayer has a smaller stamp.

can you pause and do a screen capture? Do you mean hit the "Print Screen" button? I just tried that on a homemade disc and it worked, but when I did the same on the new Springsteen DualDisc, it just showed a black square where the picture was. Do you think this has something to do with copy protection?

In English, please? WMP has way to big a memory stamp for me to like it. Even RealonePlayer has a smaller stamp.
What is this "memory stamp" you speak of?

What is this "memory stamp" you speak of? A video codec is a software comperssion protocol &/or the software itself that allows taking an otherwise analogue visual (your movie) and converting it to bits of data (normally with some dataloss through compression). MPEG, AVI--all of these are file types that require specific video codecs that allow your media players to play them. Memory stamp is the amount of physical memory that your media player needs to play vidoes/music/etc. Basically, how much RAM your computer needs to operate it. Windows Media Player is notoriously sluggish and bulky in that respect. I prefer RealPlayer and Quicktime/iTunes.

Personally, I don't do it (just trying to capture a still here).

That's what technologically challenged folks like me resort to. Truly!
