falloff I was listening to Toronto radio today, and southern Ontario is all for the Sabres now, because they can't stand Ottawa. Ya'll got some goons up there. Some of them used to be Sabres. Maybe Hasek will be over his everlasting pulled groin muscle. He's good but he's getting old.I expect Ottawa to take the series, but New Jersey will take care of them after that.
The Sabres are all still young, their time will come.

The Ottawa-Toronto hatefest is nothing new. It's been going on for years. Toronto is just bitter cuz their bums are still red and sore from getting spanked so hard by Ottawa.

The guy that is filling in for Hasek is pretty hot, so are a few other guys..so they're not all goons.

It would be nice to see Ottawa win the cup cuz they are the number one ranked team this year.

...but, as I said before, I don't see that happening cuz they always seem to choke in the playoffs.

I swear to God that I really do hate hockey.

It's okay if you hate hockey, I think we all do sometimes. Specially in playoff season. I think they'll beat Buffalo just because they do have more experience and there's a size difference, Sabres are all fast but small. It was nice to see the Sabres have such a good year starting out with so many young guys this year.

It's frustrating to be a Sabre fan because they lost the Cup to Dallas on the "no goal" call five years ago only to have the league admit the goal was good and change the rules after the fact so it won't happen to anyone else. REALLY sucked big time. This is the first year they've been good enough to have a chance again. At least Dallas is out. lol

Well, two goals were lucky, one was on a 5 on 3 PP, and the others were the killers. Marty will be fine. Commodore got his face caved in though, so I'm down with that.

On to game two.....

awwww sorry honey pat

just out of curiosity... do your broadcasters say "mar-tin" or do they say it "mart-han"??
(can't think of a better way to explain how to do it en francais)
or do they just call him marty like you do? lol

Do the fans there always cheer when an opponent gets knocked out cold? I can see cheering a good hit but that was harsh, they deserved to lose .They got TONS of breaks from the refs.Very uneven officiating. neutral

no, I'm watching it on OLN, so their broadcasters know what's up, they call him "Mart-han"

Such a shame, because he made some UNBELIVEABLE saves tonight. I hate being down 2-0 sad

I have no idea. I don't watch the games as I am not a fan of hockey, I only hear about them from 300 people a day.

I'm sure the nasty cheering happens everywhere, not just in Ottawa.

Not everywhere..but I'm sure it's worse in the play offs. A Philly player speared a Sabre with his stick right in a surgery incision and took him out, they cheered the hit, not the injury. Tonight the player that was knocked out had recently recovered from a really bad concussion, it was a dirty hit to the head with no penalty.I've grown up on hockey and that was pretty bad.
Oh well, its over and we'll see what happens next.

I saw the hit, I don't think it was dirty. It was only marginally high in my opinion. It's shitty to cheer anyone getting injured.

It was kind of iffy, the call could have gone either way, but that cheering was lousy.Sorry the Devils lost btw.

The Sens didn't choke in this series, they really were alright most of the time. But damn the refs were awful for both the Sabres and the Senators. I heard that they were bad for all the games so far in this series.

Right on for the Sabres. I like when the underdog wins. As for the Sens, this is a case of the same old, same old. They've been doing this for years now.

I was talking to a friend right after they lost and he was so pissed off. Some people take this shit so seriously and so personally. I was like, "You know, just cuz the Sens are losers, doesn't mean you're a loser too....it's just a game, dude".

hug There are no bad teams in the second round. So much of it is just chance. The Sabres have great heart, they can take a beating and keep coming back for more.
Last update I heard on Jason Connelly is that he'll remain on the "day to day" list. That concussion was really bad.sad
