The best product for the faux hawk or any trendy style requiring some firmness wiwithout stiffness is BEDHEAD.

They make a great glue-stick product that allows you to style your hair in a fauz hawk and it will keep all day, but not look like you greesed it up with some cheap hairgel.

Avoid cheap products like Vidal Sasoon, Tresome' and the like (which cost more than Aquanet, but ultimately are just more expensive store knockoffs). Go with bedhead. It'll make your hair look like you just walked out of a salon even a week after you've had it done.

Also, if you choose to use the glue-stick, run a hot blow dryer over the top of it to wet the stick a bit, apply to your hand, and rub your hands real well (without evaporating it), then apply. It is a bit sticky, but it won't "appear sticky in your hair.

Paul Mitchelll also makes excellent products, but there are so many knockoffs masquerading around as PM products that you need to ensure you're getting it from a reputable salone like Toni & Guy, or a local stylist that is well known in your area.

Finally, always apply the product to clean hair that has been washed and conditioned. And do not over use the product. A good product like Bed head doesn't require the same amount as something you'd buy in Target or the drug store. More is less.

Good Luck.
I love Faux Hawks. kind of makes me dissapointed that I'm growing my hair out and haven't been to a salon in a while! neutral

wow, you really do know your stuff. were you a hair stylist or somink? Anyway, I ended up getting the 2 Be Glued stuff at lunch time. I've put a little in my hair and it seems to work though I already had other hair crap so not as well it would if my hair was cleaned. I can tell this is some strong stuff. I have to be careful with how much I put in. It could be dangerous otherwise.

So bedhead is another good one??

Are you a guy? American Crew makes a GREAT creme pommade. But I don't like using it myself cause I don't like the smell on me. It's a guy scent.

nod Yes it's a great product ...but it smells like old man. giggle

Are you talking aobut "Got 2 Be Glued" in a yellow squirt bottle?
The gel is white and looks like donut glaze?
It will make your hair very hard. It works VERY well, but the texture of your hair ends up being dry and hard. It's great for extreme styles.

But Bedhead is a different animal altogether. Bedhead hair gels will run you about 16 to 20 bucks, but they are great.

Does your fauxhawk have a fake mullet in the back? I friggen love that new look.

Why the fuck I'm going for this old-man-looking-EMO bullshit I don't know. neutral

oh i think you might be talking about the one they call "hair cement". i didn't get that one. i got the one in the yellow tube called hair glue. the one called cement sounds way too hard core.

when i get more dough i'll try bedhead as well. bloody hell, i'm going to be able to open my own hair care product shop soon with all the crap i've accumulated.

i'm trying to grow the mullet in the back. it's almost there!

dude you should get a funky cut. screw the old man look. summer is coming!

coolio, thanks for the tip. i'll shoot him an org note.

by the way, i bought that hair putty crap from citrus garnier and it left my hair all frizzy looking. i've already wasted so much money on products and nothing is working for me. i'm determined, damn it!

don't use that rubbish from the store. Get the good stuff from the salon, I have a Paul Mitchell glue that I use sometimes that's nice, but it's sticky and stays that way, I'm not big on that.

You've been horribly Imago-ified, you know that right? lol
