The best product for the faux hawk or any trendy style requiring some firmness wiwithout stiffness is BEDHEAD.

They make a great glue-stick product that allows you to style your hair in a fauz hawk and it will keep all day, but not look like you greesed it up with some cheap hairgel.

Avoid cheap products like Vidal Sasoon, Tresome' and the like (which cost more than Aquanet, but ultimately are just more expensive store knockoffs). Go with bedhead. It'll make your hair look like you just walked out of a salon even a week after you've had it done.

Also, if you choose to use the glue-stick, run a hot blow dryer over the top of it to wet the stick a bit, apply to your hand, and rub your hands real well (without evaporating it), then apply. It is a bit sticky, but it won't "appear sticky in your hair.

Paul Mitchelll also makes excellent products, but there are so many knockoffs masquerading around as PM products that you need to ensure you're getting it from a reputable salone like Toni & Guy, or a local stylist that is well known in your area.

Finally, always apply the product to clean hair that has been washed and conditioned. And do not over use the product. A good product like Bed head doesn't require the same amount as something you'd buy in Target or the drug store. More is less.

I love Faux Hawks. kind of makes me dissapointed that I'm growing my hair out and haven't been to a salon in a while!

Are you a guy? American Crew makes a GREAT creme pommade. But I don't like using it myself cause I don't like the smell on me. It's a guy scent.

But Bedhead is a different animal altogether. Bedhead hair gels will run you about 16 to 20 bucks, but they are great.
