A Most Compromising Position! Back in like 1991 I was living in Jacksonville, FL. I had gotten involved with this shorty and we had been kickin' it for a few good weeks. So one day I am at her place, it is about noon. Knock Knock.....it was an ex or current lover or whatever, but the brotha was smocking hot and somehow (yeah right) knew I was there! Her dumbass decides to go answer the fucking door, of course against my wishes and better judgement.
This brotha begins yelling and screaming at her, then begins to beat her ass in the next room!! I am in the bedroom putting on my clothes and searching for a nice weapon in case his ass decides to barge into the bedroom. He doesn't, but say quite directly "I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THAT BROTHA IN YOUR BEDROOM RIGHT NOW"(it is so refreshing when men honor the CODE) "My problem is with YOU!" And begins hitting her, slamming her against the walls and everything. I was still in defense mode, but didn't know how I was going to get out of this shit. I sat on the bed with a big ceramic ashtray in my hand and contemplated going out there and try to quell the situation. Then the lightbulb went off! I called 911 from the bedroom! "911, what is your emergency?" "Hello, I am calling from so and so apartments and the neighbors are fighting something terrible and I think the man is beating her up" "Sir, where are you?" "I am in the apartment above them." "Sir, again....I need to know exactly where you are?" Again..."I am in the apartment upstairs!" Sir, I am only going to ask you this ONE MORE TIME.....WHERE ARE YOU?" It then hit me that all the residence info for 911 calls are right on her computer screen....DOH!! "OK OK, I AM IN THE DAMN APARTMENT!! SEND SOMEBODY OVER HERE TO GET MY ASS OUT OF HERE!!!"

And thank God he respected the Man Code enough to understand that it is not the man's fault if you catch your girlfriend cheating on you. But he shouldn't have beat her ass like that. Nope. My concerns were how to save her ass without having to make contact with an enraged ex that may attempt another act of violence on me at another time or place. If he is coward enough to beat up a woman, who knows what he'd do if he knew what I looked like or what I was driving, etc. I thought about every possible scenario before calling 911. It wasn't my place to get involved in that shit because if her stupid ass opened the door in the first place, then they got something going on much more deeper that what we did....Kapisch? Or.....she may have wanted to see two men fighting over her stupid ass, but I ain't the one to fight of a piece of pussy unless it is my lady that is being disrespected.
