I don't find myself getting bored. I try to treat my wife the same way I did when I first asked her out. Of course, it is easy because being with her makes me forget about all that is around me.

Life has changed though. It is 11 years later and we have two kids. Now, my life is filled with landscaping issues and private school bills. Plus, everything else that comes with a house and kids.

After nearly 20 years together, we know each other VERY well...
I think the key is being able to laugh together, even at each other.
My wife is my best friend and confidante...We see so many people
who have problems being married, but for us, it's hard to imagine
us being in that situation...we just mosey along with our lives.

As jbchavez said, it's all about working together as a team on yardwork, school
work, child rearing, housework...those are the things that are most important
in our lives right now.

As the kids grow, I'm anxious to see how our relationship will change.

It's only natural that you'd become bored/frustrated with your partner - married or not.

People often mistake the "honeymoon stage" as love and end up in bad situations. They don't take the time to get to know their partner, truly, to know if they are a good fit and even if they are, well, there's always someone who has something else you're looking for that your partner doesn't possess.

I also think that it's in our make-up to become bored if left alone too long with another. I'm not sure if I feel that we're made to be with one person, soley, for long periods of time. I feel, at times, that because we're "humans" that we feel that it's our job to be with another for long term because we are the superior being. If animals can't do it, why do we feel that we're supposed to? Society? Just a thought that crosses my mind from time to time.

I don't get bored with my partner, but I do get frustrated. He's very laid-back; I'm more of the activist type. Sooooo we clash on that.

I love him though... more than words can express. He is my soul-mate.

But he still pisses me off sometimes. lol
