Actually, there are posts like that sometimes. There's a sound-off board, I think. |

Sorry to dredge up this thread, but read this sweet ad just posted on the Minneapolis Missed Connections:
The author is a 60 year old man. "The Peggy I knew and loved lived in Minneapolis and was in her early twenties, (now 50's)and had a Polish maiden name...She also played in a woman's fast-pitch softball league... My name is Bob, and we met when I was an airman (USAF)in Chicago during the summer of '69, when she traveled there with two of her girlfriends... We wrote to each other while I was stationed at Danang, Vietnam, and I sent her love poems that I wrote, and also a Marraige proposal... Because I had been married before, and had a child her Priest advised against our Marrying... Our last embarace took place in mid 1971 when I traveled to Minneapolis in a brightly painted LIME GREEN '65 Dodge...I made a fool of myself and left never to contact her again because I was too ashamed to face her...I have regretted this for 36 years! Shortly after returning to California I received orders for an unacompanied 1 year assignment to Guam... Upon receiving this I concluded that it would have been unreasonable and unfair to expect Peggy to wait another long year before seeing one another again. If anyone knows this beautiful woman, please show her this, and if she has room enough in her heart to forgive me, I would really enjoy hearing from her... My only wish now is that she knows that I never forgot her, or stopped caring..." This is the kind of post that warms my jaded old heart. I hope they find one another. | |
