The Boondocks cartoon

You know I have watched several episodes of this cartoon and I've tried to look for the humor in it all, but I just can't sad . I dislike their usage of the N-Word so carelessly or the fact that they use this word at all. Another aspect that bothers me is how they can take historical figures such as MLK and just make a mockerey out of everything that he stood for, it's really kind of disturbing sad . So, how do you feel about this cartoon (it's okay to voice your opinion, even if you happen to like the cartoon). Let's hear what you think wink .

I saw the MLK episode, and I don't think they were trying to mock him at all! Rather, they were trying to point out that a lot of things he stood for have gone astray in today's world.

As for the show in general, I like other things on adult swim better, but it's not too bad.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE BOONDOCKS!!

It does cause alot of discussion as it pulls no punches for anyone, but it also makes you look long and hard at alot of issues right now, whether it is making light of a situation or otherwise.

I really like the comic strip itself.

That being said, I wasn't impressed with its tranlation to TV. I think I watched 3 eps and gave up.

i think its all about how you take it. some view it one way, some view it another way. i tried looking at the show on adult swim, and it wasn't all that funny to me...i mean it was alright, but it didn't have me laughing on the floor with tears in my eyes neither.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I don't know that much about it, but I saw some of the MLK episode. I just thought it was strange. Not disrespectful or anything. It just wasn't funny or even trying to be, really. What's the predominant tone of Boondocks?

Huey is angry and he's black and he's a kid.....he's critical of his environment and of how his environment portrays him.....his little brother is a wannabe gangsta.....his uncle is a goodie goodie.....Huey thinks that things need to change, that's why he's a smartass.....and I think it's funny!

well the cartoon is great too, gosh his little brother is so violent...i like when he saw his fav. rapper making out with another guy and he couldn't take it and when his father was beating him, because he said the lady's food was nasty or disgusting. lol and the old man who doesn't think he's black...I remember when he told some guy to get his banana peeling hands off of him...lol that was so funny.

I love Regina King as an actress and I'm sure she's a wonderful person, but her voicing both Huey and Riley is incredibly annoying nor convincing. They're boys of course but she makes them sound like girls. The politics are sometimes over the top but I'm not bothered by it.
