How did you fill your time..??

Just replying to CarrieMpls sick thread at least we have the comfort of others at our fingertips, but what happened before that?

When you werent going out, there was jack shit on the telly and all your friends were out when you called them, what the hell did we do in our spare time????

Actually, I was thinking about this the other day. I realized, I used to spend a LOT more time on the phone. I have spent hours at a time on the phone with friends of mine. Even when they were just a few blocks away. My friend Pamela and I would watch tv shows together over the phone.
I suppose I still talk to darin on the phone just about every day... but I don't talk to anyone else nearly as much.

pre-org i remember there was a 1-900 hotline you could call for prince gossip, and that was the first place i heard about mayte and the symbol album. that, and i had a subscription to controversy magazine for a while. that's how i used to fam out back in the day.

but non-princey stuff i did before the internet? i probably drew a lot more. that was my busywork when i was sitting around watching television. i'd draw a lot. i'd draw comics and i'd make collage drawings with tracing paper. i had a big tub full of pencils and markers and art supplies and i'd just spread out on the couch and doodle and watch tv.
