do you pick it up right away, or do you let your answering machine get it? I used to pick up my phone as soon as it started to ring, now I find I let my machine get them. A lot of times it's just some stupid telemarketer trying to sell me something (can't stand telemarketers). I feel that if it's important enough, the person calling will leave me a message. What about you?

I hate picking up either of my phones.

If I'm expecting a call, of course I'll answer as soon as I can, otherwise I try to let my machine catch it and return the call later. My cell is quite lonely, haven't had a friend call in a month. Oh well, I can always come to the org.

I answer my phone if I am home. If it's a telemarketer I scream into the phone.

My phone seldom rings, so when it does I nearly have a heart attack

I answer my home phone cause no one calls it unless they know me. I get an occasional telemarketer call, but those don't usually bother me. And I don't have aany voicemail or anything on my home phone. My home phone bill is incredibly cheap.
My mobile, I'll admit, I screen. If I don't recognize the number, or can't be bothered to answer depending on who it is, I just may not answer it.

I have caller ID through my TV, so I can just check the TV screen and see who it is. If it's not a number I recognize, then they can leave a message if they really need to talk to me.

I ignore it, unless its someone I want to talk to.

i dont have a house phone. just a cellphone. i always ALWAYS check the caller id first. i dont answer calls that say 'private' or 'unknown'. if you have to dial *67 to hide who you are then that means i don't want to talk to you anyway

Better yet...how many calls ACTUALLY turn out to be from someone u WANT to talk to?

If I'm really busy, or in the middle of something I let the machine get it and call the person back later, otherwise I would usually answer it.

No one rings for me.
