who grates your nerves more--Debbie Downer or Uncle Upper? who gets on your nerves more in your social circle:
Debbie Downer--everything is a fucking crisis; never happy about anything. if something good happens to you, she'll find a way to put a negative spin on it. 
YOU: I just met the person of my dreams--i'm so happy! DEBBIE DOWNER: well you know they'll just cheat on you and break your heart like i got mine broken 20 years ago. I'll be waiting for you to come to me with the bad news. YOU: 
Uncle Upper-- no bad situation is too bad for this person; always has some corny ass optimistic fable to keep you motivated, when sometimes you just really wanna be pissed off for about 15-20 minutes. 
YOU: I can't believe I'm gonna get laid off! what will I do? I can't pay my bills! UNCLE UPPER: Well, when one door closes, another one opens! It's gotta rain to make the big flowers grow! uncle upper. ugh! at the beginning of the school year i applied for financial assistance from the school (my government funds were limited and i had a huge balance i couldn't pay). the school had run out of funds. i was devastated as this man told me this. i knew that if i didnt get that money i couldn't work at the school. if i lost my job i'd lose childcare funds. if i lost childcare funds my kids would not be able to go to the school that keeps them long enough for me to work. on top of all of that i'm on the verge of graduating. i wanted to cry. he tells me ya know what? i say what? he goes "at least your alive, be happy for that." i said "yeah your right" but secretely i wanted to dive over that counter and choke the shit outta him!  in the end i got my money tho after hounding them | |
