ps to Carrie- I hope you feel better and I really hope I don't catch it! smile

hug Thanks, D. Joe rocks.
And I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy, so I really, really hope you didn't pick it up from me yesterday. Good thing we didn't share popcorn.

Awww, poor kitty.

I had the same and I was on my own for a WEEK! No one offered to come over (but that was cuz no one knew I was sick; I am a silent sufferer)

After three days all my food was gone and I had to go to the store myself, which you might remember is around the corner, so that was do-able.

I hope you got your cuddles and that you feel better soon.

Hug,
Herman

Thanks Goo. hug

And thank to the rest of you. You're all so nice. smile

No blood. And I'll spare you the yucky details. Suffice to say I was in the bathroom every half hour from about midnight to 6 this morning. I couldn't even keep water down till late this morning.

awww, carrie, i didn't know you were so sick. i am too. i've been off work for most of the past week and i'm going to be off all this week, and i live alone. fortunately i have my bf to drop in a few nights a week, but he's got a thousand things on his plate so i've spent a LOT of time by myself, sick as can be. i'm pretty independent and i have lots of stores near my apartment, so i can do okay for myself, but the company and the being fussed over really do help a lot. i hope you get better soon. comfort

Aw, honey! comfort

It does suck. It's the worst thing about living alone (hell, maybe the only bad thing about living alone that I can think of lol ).

I've been sick too. . . icky bad. . .some kinda flu thing. . . I feel like hell. . .and I felt my worst Friday night. My boyfriend had plans, which he had invited me to join in on, but I sent him an email saying I was really sick. He didn't get the email, and called me later asking if I was going. I was like, "uh, no, I'm sick". He was like, "oh, that sucks. Well, I'll call you before I go to bed." I hung up the phone and burst into tears. And then promptly called Martin (my friend/ex), who immediately headed over. I'm used to having a partner, and while I like being on my own most of the time, I really appreciated that Martin sorta fell back into that role when I wasn't feeling well.

As for Boyfriend, he felt really bad the next day when he read the email and found out that Mar had come over to take care of me. . . he didn't get how icky I felt. He really had nothing to feel bad about; he ain't my husband, and it's not his job to baby me. shrug

But, still. . . I don't think many people want to be sick alone.

The thing is, it's hard to feel better if you don't eat anyting for days, or take meds as appropriate, but if you're by your freakin' self, how are you supposed to do that? Have the pizza guy pick up some cough syrup on the way? confused

I'm a big baby, I guess.

Good gawd, Spats. Don't you know that women are good for something other than sex? Namely, for bringing you tea and soup when you're sick? At least properly take advantage of us. lol

I'm used to being alone and doing things alone and all of that. But when I get really, really sick it reminds me that I don't always want to BE alone. And it makes me sad. That and I've been missing a particular someone lately, so you know how that goes.

How nice of Martin to run in and help. My friend Joe brought me some of the things I needed. Joe is nice. smile

I've been able to keep food (crackers and soup, that is) down since last night, but I still feel unstable. If I move around too much my tummy gets all rumbly and I have to lay back down. But I have been enjoying some yummy ginger ale. I love ginger ale. I don't normally allow myself sugared sodas these days, but when I'm sick I get all the ginger ale I want. mr.green
