A question that's been bugging me lately, I hope someone can answer. After Johnny begs Don Vito to get him the role in the movie and the producer turns down " The Offer ", how did they actually get the horse's head into the bed without Waltz knowing it, plus how did he not see the head prior to getting into his bed? That still is the sickest move ever.

i was wondering about that, too.

i always knew that the horse's head in the bed was a godfather thing but i didn;t know that the horse's head was in the bed at the same time as the guy! that was sick.

that was my favorite part of all three movies.

of course, i was only half watching the movies because i was throwing a party and the TV was kinda like background noise. my dad has the trilogy and next time i'm at his house, i'll probably watch it.

This is gonna sound really messed up, but when Kay says that, I identify with Michael and I wanna kick the shit out of her.

she knew what the hell she was doing, she knew that would be the only way he would let her go...was to actually almost hate her for killing his unborn son. yeah i'm all for men to keep their hands to themselves, but in this case, she was asking for the bitch slap on the couch...

yeah that was sick, but the part that use to turn my insides was when clemenza strangled Carlo in the car...that was some wild shit, i can watch it now without any emotion, but that use to be the part where i had to turn my head.....especially when he kicked out the windshield struggling to breathe..Carlo should have known that he was going to be on his way out soon...

but the scene right after Carlo, is my favorite scene of all, when Michael is walking across the driveway with his hat on, walking that "Don" walk...like he was saying "I'm the head of this muthafucker now" without even saying a word...nod damn i love me some Mike Corleone!!!

you don't think killing Fredo wasn't cruel??? yes i get why he had to do it, but goodness that was his blood brother, and everybody knew that Fredo was on the dumb side of things and naive.

Yes, that was probably his hardest decision in the whole story. It was a cruel act, but there was reasoning behind it. Other than that, I don't know if I'd tag the term "cruel" to his entire character.

nod I agree. Michael had a job to do and he did it...very well. If he were cruel he would have had his brother killed while his mother was still alive. But, he knew that would kill HER.

Because I sure did...The Godfather is my favorite movie of all time and i just couldn't help watching Parts I, II, and III all weekend long.

Watching that movie puts a boost in my confidence. I just fall completely in love with Al Pacino portraying the infamous, yet calm, but cruel, Michael Corleone. And then watching Robert De Niro portray the young Vito Corleone...and not to mention the legendary Marlon Brando...my 3 favorite actors of all time.....what more could i ask for this weekend????

It was AWESOME! Godfather I and Godfather II are two of my all-time favorite movies. They are flawlessly acted and directed. I actually own the DVDs, but if I happen upon the movie on TV I can't help but watch it.

But I have to admit to being terribly disappointed in Godfather III - I sorta of watched it, but I also cleaned my house during that one redface

Great scene - paraphrased:

Michael: Someone has to pay for Santino, Carlo. That little farce you played with my sister? You think you can fool a Corleone? Today I settled all family business. Barzini is dead. So is Tataglia, Cunio, Moe Green, Stracci. You think I'm gonna make my sister a widow? I'm godfather to your son. No, Carlo, you're out of the family business, that's your punishment. Now, who approched you? Tataglia or Barzini?

Carlo: It was Barzini.

Michael: Good. Now get out of my sight.

Clemenza: Hello, Carlo...

i have a lot of fav scenes in both but the one that i love in GDFII is in the beginning when Senator Geary is bashing the Italians in Michael's office, then was going to charge him outrageously for the gaming license. That senator thought he was so smart and that he had Michael under his thumb.....

Michael: "Senator, you can have my answer now if you like."
My offer is this.....Nothing."

Michael really fixed Geary though. Had him crying and all.

Another scene I liked in II was when after Kay had left Michael and Connie was letting her see the kids before Michael came home. Connie was trying to sneak Kay out the back door, but Kay was taking too long, and eventually Michael appeared right when Kay was about to leave. I think she was expecting him to say something to her, but instead he shut the door in her face...and you can hear her running off crying.....CLASSIC SCENE!!!! Al looked so sexy in that scene drool

this is simple:

they pay the cook or the butler to drug Waltz food,
putting him into a deep sleep.
then using a chainsaw they chop off the horses head,
after drugging it with the same shit they used on Waltz.
put the head in the bed

voila, well that's how i would do it.

did u guys see the deleted scenes from the trilogy???

I love the scene where Michael got revenge on "Fabrizo" his bodyguard in Italy who set the bomb in his car that killed Appolonia.

Also there was a scene that should have been in the early days with DeNiro when Hyman Roth was introduced to the young don Vito Corleone.

Yes! And Cope used a lot of the deleteds for the saga as well. All the outtakes when they were laughing through scenes were great. In an interivew Brando was asked if the younger actors looked to him for acting advice etc. All he said was "I don't know about that, but Jimmy Caan is the funniest guy I know!" Apparently they were always cracking jokes and pranking each other.

I never get tired of this movie!

me neither! did you watch the screen test part on the special dvd? those were so funny. James Caan and Robert Duvall were saying all kinds of things during the tests and they kept making Al Pacino laugh so hard that he couldn't even say his lines!!!

and oh my, Paramount didn't want Al to play the role of Michael, so they had James Caan screen test for the role of Michael, and if he didn't seem so out of place!!! Plus they had Robert De Niro test for the role of Sonny for GDF I and he would have been okay, but James Caan was a better choice for Santino.

The movie(s) is flawless - and you can't even imagine anyone else playing those roles - James Caan was spot on. DeNiro impressed Coppola so much during his audition that he all but secured his spot in Godfather II. And again, who better to play the young Vito. Weird how allthese guys were just starting out or completely unknown (Pacino)except for Brando. Just goes to show you these studio execs are NOT the ones to make the creative decisions... smile
