The right reasons for having a child

something in another thread sparked me thinking about this, and all the reasons I can think of are not very good ones, they are all selfish ones.

well selfish is not always negative. the need to love is one of the only positive reasons i can think of. and that in itself is selfish. is that a bad thing? i dont think so.

no I agree with you, but it is to satisfy a need, an emotional, and I would argue, a physical need to have someone you can hold close and love with all the love you can give.

I think it is within us to preserve our species, our need to procreated is biological - we are compelled to do it, and yet, we are not exactly dying out! neutral

mushy I did, he's gorgeous, and immediately I started thinking I would like another child, despite many logical reasons not to.

I'd say not always. Some women are so desparate to have a child they don't even tell the guy, and raise the child alone.

My friend too, she was 40 when she had her son, and she doesn't regret it one bit, but before then couldn'd find the right man and went it alone since she did not want to miss out.
