The right reasons for having a child something in another thread sparked me thinking about this, and all the reasons I can think of are not very good ones, they are all selfish ones.

So, would the goal of laborers be wrong?

well selfish is not always negative. the need to love is one of the only positive reasons i can think of. and that in itself is selfish. is that a bad thing? i dont think so.

no I agree with you, but it is to satisfy a need, an emotional, and I would argue, a physical need to have someone you can hold close and love with all the love you can give. I think it is within us to preserve our species, our need to procreated is biological - we are compelled to do it, and yet, we are not exactly dying out!

I did, he's gorgeous, and immediately I started thinking I would like another child, despite many logical reasons not to.

I'd say not always. Some women are so desparate to have a child they don't even tell the guy, and raise the child alone.

Work sucks dude! so in the olden days, that was a valid excuse, you needed your children to work the land or you all died out. But now?
