I bought this book of IQ improvement tests and brain teasers, but I'm afraid I"m failing miserably.

Can somebody help me out.

This is called a "group teaser". Look at these 4 words. Once you figure out the rule that applies to them, name another word tht also belongs in the group.

KAYAK, TENET, MOM, DEED,



oh, and when you figure it out for Christ's sake, explain.

You open the book at page one.. read and when you have done that turn to page two and read that.. continue in that way until the book is finished..

they are spelt the same backwards and forwards.

I figured it out:

there are 14 letters in total in 2 groups of 7. 26-14=12
1+2 = 3. then you add the number of letters which are missing between each letter and the total comes to 42. Minus 26 from 42 and you get the number of brain cells 2the9s has left.
