What cord records VHS to Computer..programs Simple question..does anyone know how to do it!? Straight Jacket Funk Affair

Well, if you don't want to open up your PC, you can buy USB TV Cards which just fit into a USB port...
This one has an S-Video input on it's side but some have composite inputs, RF inputs etcetera. Be warned though... You need a very fast processor to do this successfully. A better option would be to buy a cheap DVD Recorder and then bypass the VHS signal's Copy Protection system (Macrovision) using a dodgy (illegal) lead. Once you've burned it to a DVD, you can insert the DVD into your PC's DVD Drive and rip the video using DVD Decryptor. | |

VHS is analogue video. You need a digitizer to make your video into a digital file.
There is a thousand ways and products to do this. I for one have a miniDV camcorder. I connect my camcorder up to VHS/DVD/TV or what ever and record the footage, then I put it on the computer that way. It all depends upon how serious you are wanting to get with this. Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop. | |
