Habits from childhood (or, Red Vine straws!)?

Have you retained any habits or quirks from childhood?

I'm sitting at my desk at work drinking water through a Red Vine straw (for anybody who lives in Red-Vine-free region, it's a hollow red licorice rope -- you can bite off both ends and use it as a straw), and it just got me thinking. smile

I had trouble sleeping when I was a kid, and I used to feel like I was the only person awake on the entire planet. boxed It was awful. I know better now, but I still get that eerie feeling in the wee hours of the morning.

And actually seeing the sun rise still makes me feel... I dunno.. wrong. shrug

I still take ridiculously long showers that use up all the hot water, enraging everyone in the house. redface

You guys are totally making me smile. biggrin

Iced animal cookies. . . num. . . my version of that would be gingersnaps. I haven't had any for a long time, actually, but gingersnaps and (soy)milk are a childhood fav that carried into adulthood for me. nod

I just CAN'T sleep if the light is off. I guess I'm trained to have it on.

hug I agree, waking up in a dark room for me is difficult for some reason, nightmare or not. A couple of times the power has gone off after dark where I live due to rain or thunderstorms. The first thing I do is grab a flashlight and light some candles, get some light in the room.

This post made me think of Prince's unreleased song, "In a Large Room With No Light". Now I have to listen to it for some reason. lol
