Wolf Creek - Can the Aussie's help me out? SPOILERS!!!!!!

I watched Wolf Creek last night. A friend told me not to rent it. He said it was really bad.

I loved this movie. It was really horrifying to me. I can't pinpoint why it frightened me more than any other slasher movies. Was it because it was based on true events?

Can any of the Aussie's tell me any of the myths regarding the events that supposedly based this story?

This movie freaked me out. I'd never want to watch it again. Honestly, when it finished. I couldn't move. I literally had pins and needles in my arms and legs. It made me feel ill.

p.s. Miggy, I appear to have sent you an OrgNote by mistake last night. I was a "bit tipsy". smile

No worries. I forwarded it to the person. *hiccup*burp*

It was really a suspenseful movie.

Remember Byron, it starts off slow. My good friend couldn't stand that they set up the characters in the beginning of the movie. I actually enjoyed that part. Then it got ugly.

I have no life. Tonight I'm renting BREAKFAST ON PLUTO and another horror film called PULSE. I missed it when it was out in the theaters here. It was only shown for a week. The American version is coming out soon. I want to see the original.

hey Miguel kiss2 yes it is based on a real case... unfortunately there are many backpackers who mistakenly (VERY mistakenly) think that it's safe to go hitchhiking in the outback. it's a place you need to have your wits about you and be as prepared as you possibly can nod Australians will tell them that all the time but there are many who don't listen to the warnings and find out just how remote it is for themselves

I guess I wont be backpacking in Australia. I guess the only thing that was fact was that the male characeter was considered a suspect. He got off because there was no evidence pointing to him. The notes in the movie say that they could never find the place where they were allegedly tortured.

You might wanna check out a movie called "Audition", then...it starts off "slow"--that is, it develops the characters and mood--but it ends in an extraordinarily disturbing way. neutral

I thought this movie was better than most horror fare out there, but since they only found the one guy, they don't know what happened to the two females. I mean, the guy wasn't with them, according to his side of things, so the things that occured involving the women, well, they were just fictionalized for the movie. Still, I thought it was a pretty creepy film, once if (FINALLY) got going.

I watched Breakfast On Pluto at the weekend. I found a lot of the accents a little difficult to understand.

The 70s clothes and hair are fab though.

OH MY GOD!!!!! I have actually seen this movie. The last 15 minutes are completely off the hook. That whole throwing up thing was pretty gross too.

There's a french movie called SKIN(I think?). My roommate at the time and I cringed throughout this movie. It's about a women who becomes obsessed with her body and starts cutting it and eating it.

I bought Grand Ecole. It was pretty good. One of the guys in it was in a movie called Le Clan. There are so many beautiful boys in that.

One of the few films I've ever seen that I couldn't finish. Not just because it was disturbing (and it WAS disturbing), but because of the spinning camera work and those horrible electronic noises. Made me motion-sick. ill

You should've worked on their promotion for the film. Now I can't wait to see it.

It's based on a few different things. The movie isn't taken from just one real life case, but a few.
I think why it's so effective is the way it's shot.Like a doco movie. I thought it was really well done.
