114 / 73

Is this too low for blood pressure? The chart said 130 / 85 is normal.

Blood pressure has a normal range. 114/73 is low, but may not mean anything if the person is fine otherwise.

If concerned see a doctor about it.

that was my reading yesterday. I wasn't sure what was too low. But it was one of those chairs in the pharmacist office. Every other time I've had it read with an actual doctor they said my blood pressure was very normal. It's always been under 130 / 85 tho.

They have changed the range for what is normal, so 130/85 may not be considered as good as it use to be.

My bp tends to run about 106/62 and I'm alive and kickin!

I should know boxed But one thing I do know is that if the systolic and diastolic numbers are close that is really bad and if the systolic number goes over 200 it is ER time. So like if you have a bp of 210/190...you are in BIG trouble. (My gran use to get like that when her high blood pressure meds were out of wack.)

Looking in my textbook.... Optimal... systiolic less than 120 and diastolic less than 80. I'm not seeing anything on "hypotension." If I do I'll post it for you.

Again...if concerned see a dr. hug

Wasn't sure is all. I feel OK otherwise. Maybe I don't understand what blood pressure is. I always thought mine must be through the roof because I can feel my pulse in my stomach and can see my pulse in my eyeballs. That to me sounds like the pressure is super high lol But it's always been in this range on all my tests.

Blood pressure is a measurement of your heart beating and your heart at rest. Being physically lean like you are, it isn't surprising that you can see/feel your pulse very strong and easily.

woot! woot! woot! I really am a special creature tho. I had recurring apendicitis and had 14 attacks before having it out. I had gone to the doctor 2 other times and it was never diagnosed and after 5 years and 14 attacks I showed up for the 3rd time at the emergency room and even though everything pointed to appendicitis, the doctors just did not want to diagnose it that way because of the fact that I had had the attacks before. The doctor said that people just don't recover from it. And here, that whole time I thought my body was so weak. It was so strong, fending off appendicitis when nobody else could. Wow!!!!

You're BP is fine. I know the chart says 130/80 is normal, but doctors now want numbers under that. Mine reads around 127/77... and I smoke. confused Which I'm working on...
