The whole camera thing really got on my last nerve and I started getting really angry. That was the whole point of the filmmaker. It really added to the movie.

This movie is going to stick with me forever.

Don't thank me. Huey recommended it to me, but I didn't finish it. The low-frequency electronic sounds and spinning camera work bugged the hell out of me. Although, I know that it was intended to create a specific feeling and dread and all that.

I like the point of the film, though. You watch this totally brutal head-bashing murder, then eventually see what drove the guy to do it (the rape). It was just those irritating seques that made the film unwatchable to me.

I should have watched that special effects feature, though, if only to see how they made that head-bashing so realistic.

OK, I was just checking out the Hostel message board over at IMDB.com, and everyone was drawing comparisons with High Tension and Irreversible (particularly some fire extinguisher scene??)

Give me the scoop on these. Are they really THAT rough?
