I messed up my leg something BAD...

Let's flashback like an episode from LOST...

I had an entire alleyway to coordinate and set up. AN area just as big as the inside. Seeing as we were expecting 600 or so, there was going to be spill off into the alley. 2 weeks til the party and no one was coordinating stuff out there. I raised my hand to coordinate it all. I have no budget and one other person dedicated to helping...eveyone else was too committed to "projects" and "performances". Even the core bunnies are burned out and I heard "I'm just gonna work on my costume this year". Great.

So it's this past Friday night...I set up the outside...just me and one other person. Things went ver slowly...so in the intermittant rain, I set up stuff for 6 hours. At one point we have like 5 structures up (Car ports and Easy-ups). And in a minutes time the following happens. A wind picks up and flips one easy up over another and crashes on a car...as I am trying to stop that...another picks up in this nook in the alley way flips up and wedges between the 2 buildings that make up the nook. As that is happening the big car port flies up and hits another easy up and both come flying towards me. My life flashes and I move out of the way just in time. So now we have mangled structues all over the alley. By the end of the night, all is fixed...one easy up died (RIP) and we have the basic set up done. But we are not where we should be in terms of setting up.

Meanwhile, my friend has been freaking out because he is lending me stuff for the party...lights and such. He decided to create this "contract' to spell it out what he expects back etc. So while I am stuck setting up...he can't go over it with me. Comes to my house and freaks out my partner and eventually leaves the doc on my computer. But makes certain he tells me so. I read it and it is pretty insulting..considering we are friends.

So the day of the party, Casey and I get to set up at noon on Sat (after a freaked fraccus with my friend from above...who basically bitched out my partner..whatev). So we are there at least 2 hours before anyone else shows to set up. For the next 3 hrs..it's just 2-3 of us and there are like 12 insode putting stuff up. I ask for help only to get attitude form this girl sayng that they are all busy with stuff. I basically tell her there's nothing done for the outside and to send bunnies to help ASAP! I was ready to go at 6:30...and was contimplating not going to the party...I was THAT PISSED!

So it all goes up more or less. It's pretty bare out there. But hey, I did the best I could. I go home and get ready and go back. Everything seems to work (I was working the cinema) and I get ready and change into my costume. I go into the venue to get a drink and my favorite song is playing and I do a little dance...and BAM...it feels like someone took a bat to the back of my leg in the calf. I think I pulled a muscle or something. Hurts bad. But I had to stay and work the party. No fun for me. I got drunk and watched Who framed roger Rabbit.

So no pics (tho I'll post what others took). I will not be doing the Jam noxt year. I will go to the party and enjoy myself.

WHat a crazy weekend. But hey I got my taxes done too!

I was going to try and catch some of it towards the end when bunnies had filtered out. But at 2...tipsy...hobbled to my car and passed out til 4:30.

I drove home, parked and realized my keys and phone still at the party. I zoomed back hoping it wasn't all closed. and it appeared to be so...and just as I was getting into my car, folks came out of the venue and I got my stuff.

I had my calm moment last night. My friends invited us over for Easter dinner, which was awesome and a great end to a horrible weekend.
