I've seen the movie at different periods of my life, some romantic and hopeful, others a bit more cynical and detached.

2 constants abide, however: My love for a movement that spoke to my world in a fresh and all-to-rare way.

And, more significant, my lack of assurance that they stay together.

What do you think -- when Larenz Tate's and Nia Long's characters reunite, is it for good?

I LOVE that MOVIE almost as MUCH as JASON'S LYRIC. Larenz Tate and Nia LONG are like my Favorite Actors. Him I was like damn he is in this LOVE MONKEY SERIES and her man in the Crime Drama. Damn!!!! But I mean ya ever see the Ricki Lake with Larenz and the Fan? He was so aWESOME DAMN DEAD PRESIDENTS.. AWESOME MOVIE.....

I think if Lorenz Tate and Nia Long were Caucasian, they'd probably be making $20 million a picture right now.

That movie is awesome, isn't it? We own it, but I admit, I haven't seen it in awhile.

Refresh me... did they reunite with a kiss during a rainstorm? I forget.

It's odd. I rarely think of this question with romantic movies. I always take the "happily ever after" endings as "happily ever after." But I suppose it does add a certain appreciation for the realness of that movie to consider that even if they do stay together, two souls like that are gonna clash something fierce from time to time.

i still don't understand that after a year of being apart they all of a sudden want to live "happily ever after"...I mean they broke because they were playing games with each other and then when Larenz finally realized that he couldn't live without her it was too late.

Not saying that that isn't possible that could have happened in real life. But realistically speaking i don't think it would have lasted very long. It was just hollywood magic.

Yeah, and isn't it just human to want someone you no longer have? How many of us haven't had that feeling, as if life will be all right if they're with you again?

But that feeling fades. The human heart is fickle, so applying that to their dynamic, as Lammastide said, makes one skeptical that their reunion would have remained harmonious.

i love that movie. i think they would've stayed together for a while but not for good. i could see 1 or two years.

Funny story.

I watched the movie at the theater when it came out. There's a part when Lorenz is doing that spoken word thing. At the end I literally shouted "That's right baby!" And a women in the movie said the same thing that I did at the same time. We fell out laughing.

It's in my top 5 favorite movies, I felt changed after seeing it - it just appealed to everything in me... & Larenz has never been FINER

BUT to answer your question, I think they would have stayed together for another 2-3 years tops & they would have broken up again. I'd love to think they would stay together forever but they would have found some more silly shit to fall out over

they are so cute together.

Nia just got a divorce.....Fine lil honey.
