I used to be a big fan when I was a kid but these days...

Anyway, one of my mates played a red alien in last week's episode. giggle She had a viewing party on Saturday. You should've seen how excited she got when one of her limbs was in shot: "There's my arm! Aaaaargh! There's my leg! Aaaaargh!". falloff

Natisse looked nervous. lol

Hi Jony! wave

I don't think so - I don't usually watch it so I'm not sure. confuse But it was the only time my mate had filmed so - as far as I know - no.

She was one of the aliens in that hospital scene towards the end. She spent most of it lying on her back. smile

Well, we're just getting LAST season here in the States, so I can't really comment. I can say I have mixed feelings about Eccy. He's entertaining, but the Doctor looking like he stepped out of GQ? I don't think so!

yes i know-but he is just such a bad writer COMPARED to all the others

I really don't think RTD is a "bad" writer, it's just that he's almost purely into Sci-Fi Fantasy & low brow comedy (with a heavy focus on the fantasy part). He tends to write enjoyable enough episodes, they just don't hold up to heavy scrutiny when you tear them apart. As a whole, however, they work and the mass throngs of public viewers DO enjoy them.

rose, the end of the world, the long game and aliens all come bottom in the polls-compare the empty child to new earth.

You mean the polls of die hard Who viewers? Yes, it's an interesting thing that the Who fanatics don't enjoy his stories but the bulk of general viewers do. I think it just comes down to what each type of viewer expects.

End Of The World is one of my faves from last season, though I thought The Long Game was mostly a yawn-fest. Otoh, Bad Wolf and The Parting Of The Ways were extremely satisfying, imo, so RTD can write serious episodes when he sets his mind to it.

Although, to be honest... a lot of RTD's episodes bear closer resemblance to "Classic" who than the others, imo. That may be the reason even a flawed script of his goes over so well.

ho hum-what did everyone think of david tennant?

I quite like him. He doesn't have quite as much screen presence as Eccelston but he feels more like "The Doctor". I went back this week and watched a few previous episodes for comparison (Father's Day, The Empty Child, The Doctor Dances, Boomtown) and it hit me again how many times Eccelston played him like a Manic Depressive.

You really must get the DVD set when it's out and if you can find it cheap enough. Best Buy has it listed as $83 or something like that once it's released. I can't see paying that for only 13 episodes, though. However, there's nothing CUT from the shows, and you don't get 3 minutes of commercials every 7 minutes.

He does do a good job as the Doctor, though. I am liking Tennant as well.

I like the way he plays him, but I can't stand the fact that he looks like he's going clubbing. The Doctor should always look like an alien who is TRYING to blend in with humans, but just not quite getting it right. Garish clothes and goofy accessories are part of the Doctor's charm, and that is missing from Eccy.

As for the DVDs, I think I'll wait for them to come down in price. That is waaaaay too much for 13 episodes! I refused to pay that much for full seasons of Babylon 5, so ya know I ain't going there for a partial season of the Doctor!

That was a really good scene (the "chips" bit). I liked that episode quite a bit.
