I think you can find a decent moving checklist on MSN.com, or also check Marta Stewart.com and Good Housekeeping; lastly, at your neighborhood post office they sometimes have moving checklists attached to their change of address forms.

In the US I ALWAYS moved with a mover, from the time I was in college, but the trick is to have every box packed according to room, labeled, stacked, and ready to go, and it will--- quickly and smoothly.

Also have an additional hour's fee ready in cash in case you run overtime...and should you run into the oddball renegade moving company that tries to shake you down in the middle of moving (trying the old blackmail bait and and switch "we're not unloading until you pay us more" routine) which is unfortunately VERY common in Florida, be sure to have your moving agreement in pocket, and the numbers of the nearest police station, consumer protection desk at the local news desk, and the BBB on speed dial on your cell phone...once they see you dialing the authorities they'll back off real quick and cart that stuff right into the house lol ...

Good advice nod Once you're surrounded by boxes & can't find a fucking thing you'll be SO glad you labeled everything. I even list the contents on the box (unless it's valuable):

KITCHEN: FRAGILE glassware
KITCHEN: cookbooks
etc...

That way you can put aside the less important stuff & deal only w/ what you need until you dig yourself out.

I've also always used movers, I just don't have enough agile friends that are willing & won't fuck up my shit neutral

DAMN!!! omfg

Another thought: some moving companies to both commercial moves & residential moves. Maybe call up a business that has recently relocated & see if they'll suggest someone (that's what I did by mistake but it turned out really well & I've used that company ever since). Very respectful, they don't take breaks & milk your time, they let me look in the truck afterward to make sure everything is gone, everything was cool smile
