Do you find typing easier than talking? Are there some things easier to talk about

On the net?

Some people can't "talk". They find it hard to communicate. Do you think this is why the org, for instance, is a "cool" place to hang? Because you can express yourself and THINGs about yourself that you couldn't or can't express in the real?

i don't like talking on the phone at all. it's really hard for me to express myself because all i have is my voice and i have to figure out what to say RIGHT THERE and RIGHT THEN.

as i'm writing this right now, i can take as long as i want to figure out the right words. i'm at my most expressive when people let me write how i feel, but i know that's not realistic...just preferable.

i do like talking in person. i can use body language, facial expressions, all kinds of things to get my point across. and it's easier to have a quiet pause in an in-person conversation than it is to endure a pause on the phone. it's really awkward and stressy.

i can use the phone at work when it's business, but it's not like i'm baring my soul to anyone or sharing my personal thoughts or opinions. i'm talking about very black and white business stuff, and while it's not "fun", it's tolerable.

i'm sick as a dog this morning (yes, STILL) and my mom called and talked my ear off for half an hour. she's a phone-a-holic. i think it would hurt her feelings if i told her i didn't enjoy my talks with her, so i just endure it.

In certain contexts, it can be much easier for me to type out what I want to say. There are things that I sometimes have a really hard time talking about, and much prefer to type it all out.

I don't have a problem talking, really. I can be quite social. But I tend to choose my words carefully, and when it's something that's quite important to me, I worry it won't come out the way it want to, or I get too shy, or I just hoenestly shut down. My mind goes blank and I have nothing to say. That's when writing works better.

On the other hand, I HATE when people email when a simple phone call will suffice. This is more in a work context, but I often find myself responding to emails with a phone call or even walk over and talk to the person. I think we've become too impersonal in the workplace. And often a quick conversation is much more time efficient.

for me i like both. I think talking in person is better than talking on the phone though, but my down side is when the phone conversation or the "live" conversation is over, i find myself thinking of more things that i should have said to express myself better...which is where writing comes in.

Sometimes i have so much to say that writing it would take about 10 to 20 pages. Which is where talking is better....but thats just me.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Im pretty crap at talking really. I've never really thought about it, Im not shy or anything, but a lot of the time I just cant find the words. Whether its a nerve racking thing (much worse) or just an answer to a question in class, or talking to my friends (not so bad). Ive always been better on paper, any kind of writing. For some reason i just dont forget the words like I do in speech. I would probably find it quite difficult to say what Im typing here, just off the cuff, but it's not like Im taking my time over it or anything.

As far as things that are easier to talk about online, I think its an escape, and yes, it is easier. I cna tell people on here a problem, and know Ill get a couple of hug and comfort and it doesnt affect anything, they wont meet me for lunch and ask me outright how its going, or tell my friends, or judge me. When you just need to get something out of your system and feel a bit of comfort, "talking" on here is perfect.
