I use Maxthon shell for Internet Explorer. It has a plugin Password manager. I use that to keep track of all my logins, and delete all temp files and cookies after every close.

Yes, deleting files does help with the long view of system performance, but the cached pages make your WEB BROWSING faster.

Every now and then. Once a week at least. Mostly I just don't want other people to find about the fetish porn pages that I sometimes visit.

I do it from time to time, about every month or so, so that I can start with fresh cookies and such things.

Deleting webpages temp files, is good incase some webpage you visited calls on something that might hurt your computer's secrety.

Gennerally, no it makes your computer work no faster.

As far as security goes, If you are using windowsXP, they have places to set security on your browers and such programs.
