seriously, im all kinds of upset right now

you remember the BEAUTIFUL puppies i showed you, right ?


ok.... now, mind you, these are not my puppies, and the mother is not my dog... these belong to a friend of mine, however, i have been there EVERYDAY since the minute she went into labor....


the blessing of seeing the babies brought into the world, hearing their first whimpers, and watching a momma dog take such fantastic care of her babies has been a very uplifting experience for me.... i know i should not have taken this to heart as much as i have, and i know that i have very little to do with the situation - but im grateful to have had a part in such a beautiful display of affection.


now...


the breeder.


apparently, the AKC papers have been "lost". (a lie, there never were papers)

the woman is willing to pay the price for all the puppies and ship them to someone in California that will buy them.

the woman is willing to REbreed the dog to whatever dog my friend wants.

the woman is willing to give my friend her choice of whatever dog she wants from her house.

and, she says she just wants to keep AKC off her back... her words, "im willing to do anything i need to to keep you happy"





it sickens me to see this picture for what it really is.... the woman is running an obvious puppy mill !!!! she is using these animals for financial gain that goes ABOVE AND BEYOND any act of continuing the line of dog...


im also sad to say, im a little upset with my friend, though i know i shouldnt be. she is very upset that the puppies are not worth what they should be worth now, and is trying to find out how to get the cost she put into the litter + the cost of the puppies back


i keep seeing that precious lil boy that i have fallen head over heals in love with.... he is so sweet, so innocent, and so full of joy... knowing that he was viewed as a dollar sign makes my HEART sad....


i just wanted to vent the world can be so incredibly cruel to animals...

we had homes for at least 5 of them, more like 8 - but, that was based on the fact that they were purebreed labs.... what if the people dont want them now ????


apparently, they are mixed a few generations back with some pointer or something along those lines

I'm not sure what I think is worse -that it turned out to be a puppy mill operation, or that there are people who will refuse the puppies once they find out they're "only" mutts. (As if being mixed is a bad thing. I'm a mutt, so to speak, and I'm damn cute!)

people to love them.... people who will treat them right and give them the attention they need everyday.... i will not rest until thats done !


they are due to open their eyes in 1-3 more days.... i just want them to see beauty and not evil....

we took a few outside and sat with them in the grass today, it was absolutely adorable to see their reactions.... i just cant wait till they are running around with their lil ears floppin lol....

Would your friend be willing to take the loss of the money she put into the breeding and just make sure they babies have a good home?

If that's the case I would blow the whistle on that heartless breeder...call the AKC on her ass to make sure she can't do this to any more people or animals.

These little creatures are absolutely adorable and I see you're really frustrated nakedpianoplayer, but I don't quite get what this is about... what is a "puppy mill operation" and what is the "AKC"?

ther is an article in today's news about how these poor litle puppioes, dehydrated, starving, sick, were rescued from someone trying to smuggle them across the border from mexico.

i hope i live to see the day when animal rights are beefed up to the point where abusive actions against animals are no longer just 'misdemeanors'

Don't let people be mean to dogs!

Forgive me for this, please, but:

Serves her right for breeding expecting a profit, while down the street there is a shelter full of homeless animals. I know I'm biased (having done veterinary and animal control work), but that bias comes from being informed, and I think breeders are a lower life form, I really do. The few responsible ones (to the extent that it's possible to be a responsible breeder) will tell you that it's almost impossible to make a profit if you do it right. Bet she won't try to get into THAT again.


I'm sorry you're involved. Even in an ideal situation, I think it'd be hard to let them go.

this girl is young, quite a bit younger than i am. i try to help her see that things arent always what they seem. it would have been MY advice to enjoy the dog she had instead of making so many more to have to find homes for.... perhaps thats why she didnt tell me in the beginning.

now i feel a responsibility to these babies to help find them good homes to go to.... and i also want to make sure that the breeder is exposed so this wont happen again.

I really don't understand the mindset behind owning a purebred dog, especially toy breeds who serve no real purpose, as opposed to a working breed. They tend to have more health and mental issues because they are so inbred. Your average person is better off with a good natured mutt. I used to work at an animal hospital where people would bring in these itty-bitty dogs who they had just dropped thousands of dollars on. IMO, i didn't think that these dogs were worth it. My favorite thing was when these hipsters would come in with a "laberdoodle"" or a "french bulldog", or a "shiba hua" that they had spent a crap load of money on when bascially, what they just bought was a mutt. Go to a shelter, people!!

AKC is evil. Breeders are evil. But I do still like to watch the Westminster Dog Show once and awhile

these will be big dogs... near 100 lbs.. momma weighs in at near 90 and dad was around 120, big block heads on the babies.

there's also the goldendoodle who is adorable but as stupid as fuck! all these dogs are adorable and lovely but it's sad to see puppies for profit. some people do it right but most do not.

i have many issues with the way that humans keep pets but there's no need for me to go off.

* i HATE when dogs are kept outside .... why have them if thats the life they are going to have ? they are supposed to be with YOU in the house, as a part of your everyday life IMO.

* i bought my daughter a guinea pig recently... the cage we had was given to me by a friend. it wasnt that big, and the floor was made of wire mesh which i kinda thought was hard on her lil feet.... so, i bought a 70 dollar cage that was 3X the size and easier to clean with smooth floors so the girl's feet wouldnt get hurt. then, she looked lonely to me so, i took brianna out and we got a friend for her - now she has a big house and a friend, and they seem happy as can be together they spend all day long playing together in there.... and with any guinea pig, you have to suppliment thier diets with vitamin C since they need all of that they can get so, every day when we change the water, we have to measure out the vitamin C drops to make sure they are healthy


* i bought my son a gecko shortly after the guinea pig... the cage was a big thing for me, i wanted to make sure that i got a quality cage for this one.... we finally settled on what we were looking for and i got a great deal for the cage but, the gecko looked lonely so, i went and bought ANOTHER cage and a friend for him.... now where he used to stay in the hide all day and we rarely saw him, hes out running around basking in the heat lamp all day long now. they look happy as can be in there all hugged up together then, the sand that they use is a more expensive sand, made of a calcium suppliment so that way if they accidently eat some of the sand, its ok it wont hurt them, in fact its good for them since they need so much calcium suppliment in their diets


* my dogs... i adopted them from a couple that was moving out of the country... they are both corgi's, brother and sister actually. so you KNOW now that they are going on 2 years old, i could never separate them.... they have the biggest kennel i could find for them so they will be comfortable during the few times that i have to have them put up. they have their own beds. they have every damn chew toy known to dogs. they go out with the kids every day and play on the playground for hours. they sleep in the kids beds with them, i dont prefer to have them in my bed so if they come to see me, they sleep on the floor in front of my bed.... there is already 2 of them, so i DONT need a third lol....


now, my animals are fed top quality foods....

my dogs eat nutro max i believe, to the tune of about 50 dollars a month.

my guinea pigs... i have decided that i feel better getting their food from the feed store so that they are getting some good quality things in the food instead of paying an arm and a leg for the crap at the pet store.... who knew i would become a grain snob ??

my geckos... well, ordinary crickets wont do at my house we have a cricket house for the bugs to stay in here.... they are fed high vitamin enriched foods and calcium fortified water suppliments. this way, the crickets are a more nutritious supply of food for the gecko's. btw, i have a hard time with the feeding part, i dont like to see anything killed, so my kids have to do that part every day, everything is taken out of the cage, crickets are emptied in there and counted how many each one gets... if one gets his fill first, we take him out so the other one can get their food. what a process just for some silly lizards huh ?


anyway.... the deal is.... i try to take the best care i can for my animals and i believe that once they come into your home, they are a part of your family. it is my hope that these baby pups have a life of love and support to look forward to
