You know what I've noticed?

Latina's look REALLY good in bright lipsticks. I read in this makeup book that latina women should stay away from the pinks, and fushia's and magentas. NOTHING could be further from the truth....I think we are one of the few that can acually pull those bold colors off.

You're right...I guess it's just dark features that bright pinks really compliment..it's just that comment in that book that said latina women should use dark colors. Ewww no!

I have worn all colours in the past, and I am not one afraid of using colours either.. doesnt mean I splash it on though, you can go OTT with eyemake up but tone down your lips, and vice versa.. I am not a fucking colouring book! lol

But I think I know what you are getting at Krystal666.. people with a certain coloyred skin can get away with a lot more than others

Shame really cos it depends on the person.. I had some friends who had beautiful skin tones, but were just not adventurous to make the most of themselves, and always looked dowdy sad

I hate lipstick....especially matte and mainly bright colors and red. God, I despise red lipstick. It just feels so heavy on the lips, plus it looks like something clowns would wear. I don't see how some women do it on a regular basis. Now, tinted lip gloss is a different story. I love Burt's Bees lip shimmer.

It conditions the lips with a slight hint of color. I've always been a fan of Bonne Bell lip gloss too. It's been around for a while too....since I've been a child.
You're never too old for Bonne Bell. smile They have an assload of flavors too, like the soda series....Dr. Pepper, Coke, etc.

I'm quite pale, with dark hair and I've tried all colours of lipstick that I see on women with similar colouring, but it just never seems to look right. Maybe its just me, i think I need to get used to lipstick!

I do have red lip gloss, but I almost always wear really pale peachy lip gloss. Im just not very adventurous! I've always saved that for the eyeshadow!

Mac's Viva Glam 1 is a fabulous red. Looks good on many, many skin types. And definitely a nice wearable color that can go from day to night. It's my fave lipstick, biggrin

I am a make up artist and personally I hate rules about make up....make up is fun and u should be creative with it...yes not every color looks the best on everyone but usually there is a way u can work it in so that it looks good if u really want to wear it...in my experience it is in most peoples minds what they can and can not pull off...be open to trying new things biggrin

I could not agree more...I am no makeup artist...but I am an artist of the arts....we have no rules either...the more creative the better....no matter if it is not the norm.
