Yes, funny, this is my first time finding this post, yet this was something I was going over in my head the other night.

What is "This"?

That is known as a bed time prayer. But what is the true meaning to it.

God take care of me while I sleep, but if it is your choice to have me die, please take care of my soul.

It is an unwavering statement of faith in God's ability to do the thing that is best for himself rather then What it IS you Want.

One must then ponder, if mankind can have such faith in God for little things in life, why does man's faith faulter in the bigger picture?
