Ex-Moderator | nightmares... So this morning I was having a nightmare about zombies that woke me up at 5 am and I was afraid to go back to sleep. I kept thinking how easy it would be for zombies to get in my apartment, as the provate entrance to my apartment is through my porch and it's all windows, all windows in the door even. I have another door that exits into the other part of the basement (I live in a basement apartment) but they'd probably get in there BEFORE my apartment cause my upstairs neighbors never seem to latch the back door, so the zombies would for sure be waiting there for me and really, there's no other way to get out. So if zombies ever try to attack me in my apartment, I'm basically screwed.
What are your nightmares like? |

Ex-Moderator | See, most of my nightmares don't really have anything typically scary going on. I just have an overwhelming sense of ickiness, anxiety, discomfort, etc. So for me to have a regular old monster nightmare like when I was a kid was kind of refreshing. But I still couldn't stop thinking about it when I woke up. |

What are your nightmares like? i kid you not. last night when i got home at 11:00 when i was drifting to sleep i didn't have a night mare but i was thinking about the same thing. i was thinking that if i boarded up my back door would they be strong enough to push my door in and eat me and my kids actually i haven't had any night mares lately. but my nightmares are usually about the things i worry about in real life actually happening in the dream.

one time i had a nightmare that the ghost of lisa "left eye" from TLC was standing at the foot of my bed staring at me. i kept telling her to go away but she wouldn't. she just kept standing there staring at me until i woke up from the nightmare. i have no freakin' idea what that was all about.

I dream of my family. Night before last I dreamt that I killed my father in self defense, he had one of my small kitchen knives and was on a drunk rampage. I held him off with a chair but he cut my hands open, then we struggled and he ended up on the floor dead. There was so much blood, my back was slick with it. Very graphic.
The very next dream I can remember was of me sending my disgustingly drunk mother to a psych ward. My mom, when she was drunk (she doesn't drink anymore), was one of those people who get slow as hell, stupid beyond belief and just fucking disgusting. She was that in the dream but I sent her to a psych ward and not to detox, why I don't know. I was in my teens again, when we had our worst fights. Also very graphic and I experienced the shame I used to feel when I was young and my parents were drunk in public. [Edited 4/11/06 8:13am]

Ex-Moderator | In my early 20's when I'd given up my experimentation w/drugs and whatnot, I'd have horrible nightmares that I was high and couldn't come down. Those were awful. Apparently, it's a phenomenon many addicts go through when they quit. The weird thing is, I was never an addict. Just had fun at the occasional party. But maybe it's cause there were still lots of folks close to me getting messed up and I was worried about them... |

I often wake up giggling. In fact, I LOVE my dream life. It's often quite vivid and sometimes hilarious. Sometimes I wish I could just crawl into my head and not come out. It's a shame I don't think that 'funny' when I'm awake. |

I was dreaming about Jack being undercover with some terrorists ( <- not my most creative dream work), and Jim was dreaming that he was hanging out with Kiefer Sutherland and discussing how scary it would be if he snapped one day and thought he was really Jack Bauer. These were not nightmares, per se. But that my live has devolved to the point that I'm dreaming about TV characters? THAT'S a nightmare. oh noes, prince is gonna soo me!!1!

It's like when you have a new job and all you dream about is working... or you play tetris all day and you start dreaming in tetris. |
