Okay, so talk about WEIRDNESS, I'm sitting at least 6,000 miles across the Atlantic from you all and XANADU came on LAST NIGHT lol !!!! I caught the end after getting some work done at about 10pm my time, but stayed up to watch the 1 AM repeat, lol lol lol !!!!! So I get to the part where I'm watching them skate all over the place for "Suddenly" and I'm thinking, OMG, how much did that dude look like ANDY GIBB (who I used to LOVE as a kid)?!?

There are not many movies I can see again and again.

But the three weird one that stick are, in no particular order;

The Nightmare before Christmas
Amadeus
Ever After (with Drew Barrymore)

"Suddenly" is my favorite song on the soundtrack. It's just such a lovely song. mushy

I saw Olivia perform "Xanadu" live at the Hans Christian Andersen birthday celebration at Parken in Copenhagen just a year ago. biggrin

And I was standing with the press photographers when she walked up the red carpet. She looked lovely. biggrin

By the way, did you guys know that the beautiful Pan Pacific building that was featured in the film sadly burnt down and has only in recent years been renovated? Sadly, the unique quad-pole facade is no longer there - but one piece remains, as a reminder of what a beautiful piece of architecture it was sad

Anyway, I love this movie to death, always have done, always will do - the soundtracks great too, and since last October it now holds even dearer and more precious, personal relevance to me than ever before. pray

No, it is so bad it's good! It's the cheese, mixed with all the groovy tunes (hey, the music IS good!) that makes it such a cult classic. It falls into a category with Phantom of the Paradise and The Rocky Horror Picture Show for oddly watchable, weirdo flicks with great soundtracks!
