UBER healthy Living vs Happy Living???

OK, are you content with your life and how you life it or do you strive to be UBER healthy and believe if you live a healtrhy life you will live longer and happier?

My Grandma always has lived happy and healthy (ish) but the doctor tells her to stop eating cakes

My Grandma loves eating cakes and is a healthy old age

Whatshername.. the old woman in France who is/was the oldest person in the world drank brandy every day and smoked cigarettes, and yet some health freaks die younger.

Why?

Is it the stress of their jobs/lives? Their genes, fate, what?

What do you believe in?

Do you just live your life to the full (within reason) or are scared and an ultra health freak?

Does it benefit you? How and why?

Have you any advice to share?

I think a lot of things have to do with genetics. Some folks can eat all the junk they want and never gain a pound, some folks can live as healthy as all get-out and still get sick, etc.

This year, I've begun to make a conscious effort to live healthier. And I can tell a definite difference in my general well-being, moods and everything.

But in general, I still think all things (vices) in moderation is the way to go. I think for me, the problem is realizing my limits. lol.

I think there are a lot of factors, which vary with every person and theres no specific formula to try to predict your life span of health, as youll always forget something. Plus you cant predict the future. You can eat as healthy as you like and get hit by a bus shrug

Personally I try to be healthy whenever theres a choice. I dont eat a lot of junk food, try to get enough exercise...the usual stuff. You feel better if you eat what we were made to eat - natural foods, more fruit & veg etc. So healthy living is, in theory, happy living...just without the happiness caused by all those vices we crave so badly, but have a detrimental effect in some way anyway!

I worked with some girls and they joined the gym, just for social status, they spent their lives suntanning, ate McDonalds for breakfast, had 2 or 3 pkts of crisps (french fries) every day, and 2 bars of chocolate, fast food or ready meals for dinner, and copious amounts of alcohol each night.

I am not angry, I am ENVIOUS!!! pissed cos they had the perfect figures!!!

Only thing is, I could sniff what they were eating and put on 10lbs.. but really my insides are a hell of a lot healthier than theirs.. so it is kinda live fast - die young - in their case..

shame though cos I know Kate will be buried in her to die for Fendi Suede Jeans and still look good, and I wont.. cry

That what I am saying.. one can be healthy but die young unfortunately.. another can have the unhealthiest of lifestyles and life to a grand old age.

I know if you like chocolate, why deprive yourself of it, if it is one of your lifes vices? Cos happens, you wanna live healthy, give it up, are miserable as fuck and just hang yourself.. smile

LleeLlee

Im lucky that I can eat a lot but dont put weight on unless I consistently eat a lot every day, but that just makes me feel lethargic and bloated.
I'm trying to eat healthier and I think (hope) it reflects outwardly.
