I'm going organic

with my skincare.

No more chemicals for me. I was already using some organic products but i'm going to try switching entirely.

There are loads of brands out there, which ones have you heard good things about?

I'm going to start using Dr.Hauschka's Rose Day cream (does anyone here use it?) instead of my usual moisturiser, which is good, but it is not entirely organic, even though it has plant extracts etc.

Thanks for the link Mach, the only problem I have is sometimes they dont ship overseas, which is a pain.

Those look like good products.

I've never made my own. Lush do some great homemade style products.

just use hypoallergenic products. a skin product does not have to tested on animals to be safe.

my skin is ultra sensitive and I've never had a problem with lush. I would expect their products to go moldy if they weren't stored right, especially because they don't contain any perservatives. On many of the packages it tells you to refridgerate some of them.

I love their ginger lotion and their honey bodywash, but they are too expensive for my student self. I used to use the ginger lotion in my hair as I blow dried it. It worked really well and smelled awesome.
Once and awhile I treat myself.

I've got sensitive skin Red and have to be careful about what I use, but I think these kinds of products may help towrads de-sentisizing it from all the chemicals we put on our skins that can aggravate it in the long term.

Some of these ingredients you put into your body anyway as they are natural, i.e honey etc.

nod on both counts. Theyre only natural products in the lush stuff I was talking about, no chemicals, so I dont see how you could have a reaction to them. Unless youre allergic to random stuff, but that comes back to your comment about de-sensitisation, which is very important from a young age.

I guess we're all different, but my cousin, whose skin was so sensitive she only used water on her face for years, tried lush products and didnt have any problems...

I read Mayte said she uses organic products on her face. She seems to think they really work. I like my Proactive. That stuff works great expecialy if you wear alot of makeup like I do.

But Mayte did say one thing that was SUCH good advice...she said that every six weeks she gets a facial and I thought omg that is a great idea...maybe I'll try that! Lo and behold my skin looks amazing latley...people have been noticing! biggrin

Mach

i have SUPER sensitive skin ... and only the natural products dont irritate it

the ones with all the added chemicals and scents irritate me badly ...

i have been this way since a child ... have made my own soaps for over 20 yrs and most my spa care items as well

it's cheaper, always fresh and made with love

cant beat that for skin care

typo

Unfortunately (I just typed a whole paragraph and the org died on me pissed) I cannot use just any old cream

I can remember form an early age spending most of my pocket money on designer cosmetics which were hypo allergenic, that I could use without upset

A long time ago I used Beauty without Cruelty products, cos they were not tested on animals and also, I could wear them without problems

Shame really cos I know what I can and cannot wear, but if I was to try a new product, chances are I would get a severe rash., and would have to go to the doctors and be prescribed some kind of steriod cream to counteract the problem, which I know IS tested on animals, so apart from wearing nothing, I havent much choice shrug
if sexy was a colour it would be red batting eyes
