Something I Will NEVER Understand About Nasty Co-Workers... why they get to be nasty to others, and NOTHING is ever said to them about their attitude. Shoot, if I were to act the way some coworkers have treated me, my butt would be hauled into my boss' office right then and there, and I would be told to straighten up and fly right, or my butt would be out the door. I see this more and more, where bitchy people are not even corrected for their nasty behavior and bosses just choose to ignore it rather than to address the problem. It's pretty sad when you work in a department of people (as I do), and everybody goes to lunch and bitches about the nasty coworker and their awful attitude. I don't understand why bosses don't try to correct the problem. Are they afraid of the bitchy person or what? Seems to me that if you're a boss, handling problem employees should be part of your job, shouldn't it?? I mean, if you're going to be a wuss with no people skills, then you should not be a manager, plain and simple!
rant over RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

rant over girl i hear ya!!! i can totally relate to you. On your other thread today i explained about this lady on my job that annoys the shit out of me. She is phony as hell yet she is this so-called "religious" person and talks about God some of the time, while most of the time she is talking about people behind their backs. One time she misunderstood what i was saying to her and thought that i had gotten smart mouthed with her...i was like huh? and the thing was she didn't come to me first about it, she talked about me first and then walked near my cube to "feel me out" or in other words she acted like she needed to see someone at the cube beside mine and then muttered "oh it was you who was getting smart with me this morning". (she was yelling across the office for a particular person, and they answered her but she didn't hear them. So she muttered under her breath "well is she here or what"? I heard her comment and said "the person you called is here and they answered you when you called". She got offended by the "way" i said it i guess. But if you use your intercom on the telephone and pick up the damn receiver, she wouldn't have had this problem now would she?) Plus there is a girl in my department who has personal phone calls straight all day long, and she fucks up on her work. And to make matters worse, her work volume is the lowest than all of us on the team!!! She has no reason to be fucking up on her work. Yet my boss and supervisor say nothing. She is always done at 12 noon everyday and just talks on the phone while I don't finish my work until somewhere around 3:30 each day with a shitload of work. Our team leader has voiced this to our supervisor and boss but they did nothing. Plus our team leader sat next to this girl and complained that since she talks on the phone so much that she (my team leader) had trouble concentrating on her work. So you know what my supervisor and boss did...instead of talking to the young girl about her long personal phone conversations, they told my team leader that she should move to another cube!!! What the hell!!! But as far as you were saying about bosses not saying anything...i think thats a question to ask a supervisor or a boss, but i know if there are conflicts within employees that they expect you to work it out together, as oppose to them intervening. They are just worried about themselves and their pay check anyways... [Edited 4/10/06 17:58pm] I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I don't know why people invest so much emotion into it, it's just a job! People really should leave all their issues at home and try to make work a pleasant place to be for themselves
Years ago I had these 3 bosses (partners in the business) and the employees were me and another girl. Well, we both got pregnant - she was only 20, not in a relationship and terminated the pregnancy, I was already married and had been trying for a baby for close to a year. So anyway, she went into a deep depression and did not talk to anyone at work without snarling, even at clients - she did not actually talk to me at all. Work was hell for 9 months until I went on maternity leave, and I am sure business suffered as she was the receptionist. She just acted as if she hated everyone's guts, totally unprofessional. Now I do understand that every day she saw me and was reminded of what I know for her was a heartbreaking decision to have to make, but still, some time off and counselling could have helped but she refused it. I asked to be moved into the other office I couldn't stand the tension.

I hate this situation as well.
So much so that I cannot comment on it or the rant will never end! I'm firmly planted in denial

rant over Ok-- i love u now because u used that phrase...my grandmother used to use it all the time.... But getting to the point, those people seem to be immune to blame. Because they've never produced, no one notices that they're slacking. Becuz u produce, they always notice what you do. Or that seems to be the only reasonable explanation. Dynamic Savior Said: Also, do you think that ugly people are God's cruel joke on humanity (like the platypus and the heterosexual) or another form of population control?
