The coolest thing about my teen years was finally growing taller than my dad -- who, at 5'10", seemed really tall to me and my friends when I was little. Couldn't wait to grow taller than him, when I was a teen. Just for the sake of oneupsmanship.  Not that being 6' tall has changed my relationship with him in the slightest:
