I'm glas you posted this Sassy. Even though the preview for Adam and Steve was seriously cringe inducing, we were debating seeing it since it just opened at our Landmark theater. It's been a while since we saw Parker on the big screen and were getting desperate.

This thread reminded me I really should wait for Netflix on this one...

her rendition of 'teacher's pet' is HIGH ART. nod

Teacher's pet
I wanna be teacher's pet
I wanna be huddled and cuddled as close to you as I can get

Mm, teacher's pride
I wanna be teacher's pride
I wanna be dated, paraded,
The one most likely at your side

I wanna learn all your lips can teach me
One kiss will do at the start
I'm sure with a little homework
I'll graduate to your heart

Teacher's pet
I wanna be teacher's pet
I wanna take home a diploma and show Ma that ya love me, too
(That ya love me, too)
So I can be teacher's pet long after school is through

Teacher, teacher
I love you

"asphalt beach" sounds pretty exciting!

from imdb:

Plot Outline: A movie musical in the style of Grease! and Hairspray about two girls (Chenoweth, Posey) whose paths cross at boarding school. They are both at different ends of the social spectrum. Chenoweth plays the popular, spoiled, rich girl.

there is hope!!

Christopher Guest Pokes Fun at Awards with "For Your Consideration"

Aug 24 2005
Starring Ricky Gervais, Catherine O'Hara, and Parker Posey
When I spoke to Jane Lynch at the premiere of the R rated sex comedy, "The 40 Year Old Virgin," she told me she was about to start work on a new Christopher Guest movie. I could only respond with, "Oh, goodie!"

Now that the plot's been revealed, there's even more reason to celebrate. Guest will skewer the world of award shows with "For Your Consideration," his upcoming film which reunites Guest movie regulars Jane Lynch, Parker Posey, Catherine O'Hara, Harry Shearer, Bob Balaban, Jennifer Coolidge, Michael McKean, and Fred Willard. Eugene Levy will also star in the film and co-wrote the script. Ricky Gervais will make his first appearance in a Christopher Guest film.

According to Variety, "For Your Consideration" is a departure from Guest's previous mockumentaries - "Best in Show," "Waiting for Guffman," and "A Mighty Wind." "For Your Consideration" involves the filming of a very bad indie film called "Home for Purim" and how award buzz starts circulating and affects the cast of the film.

Guest told Daily Variety that "Home for Purim" is an "extraordinarily poorly written movie It's a melodrama, and it's just awful. These actors never would have imagined that this movie was going to change their lives."
