Sometimes it snows in april...

I honestly can say about four years ago.. if you told me how much I would care for a paticular animal.. I'd say you were crazy.. but I had this beautiful cat that has lived with me for four years.. and I grew really attached to it, loved it.. well, yesterday morning.. She died. She was only four years old too.. it really hurt me.. we aren't really sure why she died.. We think it was possibly her heart, since she didn't have any health problems really.. We took her to the vet regularly, it kindof hit me hard. anyway.. I think its amazing when people develop such a relationship with an animal like that, and I wish people who didn't own pets could understand it's a tough thing when your attached to something you care so much about... its hard losing her, Feel like i've lost a best friend. I loved every moment I had with her.

I just thought i'd share that.. sometimes it feels better to get it off your chest..

relationships between pets and humans can be very close. i don't know
what i would do if something happened to my dog. he's about to turn 5
years old and he goes everywhere i go. sleeps underneath my desk when
i'm at work and usually goes with me when i go into town unless i go
very far for more than 1 day. i guess it's the unconditional part of
the relationship with pets that makes them so great. they love you no
matter what happens and in 90% of the cases you love them back just
the same.
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

The bond we develop with animals can be as strong as those with people, that's for sure.

I'm sorry for your loss.

I had to bring my cat to be put down when I was 17 or so. She was old, sick & miserable. It was one of the hardest things I'd ever done; I'd had her since I was 4 or so.

My mom asked me to do it because she couldn't. I didn't know how bad it would be until the car ride. This was 1989 or so and Elvis Costello's Veronica was playing on my stereo. The poor cat was bobbing her head in the car like "These I'm afraid she's not even sure if her name is Callie cat." It just killed me.

OOh she was a beautiful cat. Just think of it this way.. God (or your HigherPower) called kitty home, lovingly she went, and when you are ready you can open your heart (and home) to another cat in need. Just think that right she is curled up next to a relavite of yours who has passed away. I am very sorry you lost your friend hug

cry Losing pets is so hard. I've lost many. I don't understand people who aren't animal lovers or they just view them as "it's just an animal". Having a creature that loves and you love is really such a special thing. I'm sorry about your loss hug
