I don't believe in medications. Yes, I understand how they work on the chemical level. I simply believe the body doesn't truly need the chemicals introduced.

However, I have several strange beliefs about such things.

I had a friend who believed not medicine would work on her. Painkillers? Nah, don't work on me she said. weed had no effect on her. etc, etc. Anyway, during labour with her first baby her blood pressure went up so fast and so high they had to give her several meds so she would not develop toxaemia and die "whatever" rolleyes she said. The drugs worked immediately and saved her life. She has since changed her tune.

Still waiting for the paper work. We'll have to fill them out, have his doctors sign off and then mail them back. Drew has prescription coverage but his yearly maximum is $1000- he's on a $1000 a month. :fingerscrossed:

Fuckin nut heads! The one drug that Drew cannot not take is Plavix (prevents blood clots, reduces the chance of having a heart attack in people who have already had a heart attack). If he skips one dose his medicated stent could collapse.

As a result of his brain tumor, he's also on:

DDAVP (synthetic form of the hormone vasopressin produced by the pituitary gland). If he doesn't take this drug he'll develope diabetes insipidus.

Avandia (lowers blood sugar, helps the body to use insulin more efficiently and from becoming insulin resistant). Doesn't take this- diabetes.

AndroGel (testosterone- sex, muscle mass, hair, depression, and energy levels).

Drew will be one Plavix until Jan 2007 and hopefully soon he'll come off Crestor (cholesterol), TriCor (cholesterol), Amidarone (regulates heart beat), Altace (anti-heart attack), Toprol (blood pressure), and Protonix (GI ulcer). You can eat right, exercise and come off these drugs- and believe me WE ARE!!!

But Drew's pituitary gland doesn't function normally and he'll be on DDAVP, Avandia, and testosterone gel forever. There's no vitamins, diet or exercise that's going to correct a part of your brain that isn't functioning.

People like this make me fucking sick because that DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TAKING ABOUT! And I fucking hate Tom Cruse and will never watch another movie he's in! Let Tom Cruse have a brain tumor, I bet he'll change his tune!

Oh my husband had a brain tumor the size of a golf ball removed from between his optic nerves (he was going blind) July 2005. The surgery shocked his pituitary gland and is on a bunch of expenise meds to pick up it's function. He also suffered a major heart attack 6 weeks ago and was in a coma. We were told he was going to die, but he woke up the next day FINE with no side effects from the heart attack- just a truck ton of meds that he'll eventually come off (at least most of them).

Many people prayed for him and God gave us a miracle! nod

Thanks again! hug

Maybe I should have mentioned acception cases, such as your friends event, but there is no point. I believe people should die in some cases as you have mentioned. It's called Natural Selection.

No it's called natural stupidity. The difference between life and death is medicine and you don't take it- that's stupid and selfish.

You are wrong. You shouldn't get so upset by this. Why are you getting so upset?

I have a wife, that I love dearly and she loves me back. However, our time together is what it is. When it is time to die, then that's what it is, time to die.

If I ever get sick in such a way as a treatment is needed to suspend my death, I will choose death. Death is natural. Don't fear the reaper.

What is stupid and selfish to through a common misconception across everyone that "to live" is what's best. Doctors keep people that should die alive just to line their pockets. In a utopian world, maybe life would be better, this life however is just wrong.

You're right I am upset- my aunt has two brain tumors and has decided to do nothing. She's got the same lame ass reason you do "doctors lining their pockets" which is bullshit. Don't we all work for money?

Personally I don't care what you do but your thinking is dumb. Don't fear life, it's natural too or are you just lazy?

Do you go to the dentist? Are you going to let a tooth with a cavity decay? Do you get your eyes checked? How are you going to drive a car if you can't pass the exam? Are you telling me that if your wife was having a heart attack you wouldn't call 911?

so if something happened to you and your wife called an ambulance and decided against your wishes that she would like your life to be saved by modern medicine would you be mad at her?

Yes, I am too lazy and especally unintrested in life to live.

Mick...he's upset because his husband DIED and, by a miracle, is still with us today and is not much worse for the wear. Not everyone subscribes to your callous views on life and if someone wants to live...they should be given every option to do so. If you don't...then that's your choice, but don't fail to understand why someone would be upset with your words when going through what Stu just did.

Well that does add some light unto his feelings. One should realize however I am a DEAD BABY, and I was resessitated after my C-sectioned birth. If the world was to pratice many of my beliefs, mostlikely I wouldn't be around today, and the world might be a better place for that, but I doubt it.
