.. and you had to pick your own teams, were you first to be picked, or last?

I was always one of the first to be picked, cos I was good at sports..

Never first or last.
I was ok at sports, neither the star nor the poor kid with no coordination. I could've been quite good I think, but I didn't really care too much to try. My interests were elsewhere.

Usually one of the first. I was good at cricket, basketball and football.

I was one of the shortest and thinnest. I was always near the end.

I hated P.E. because of it, and it gave me a low self-esteem. Hence the reason I was shy.

I imagine it would be worse for boys. In general when it came to P.E, boys were way more competitive than girls....and the whole stereotype of boys being athletic probably made it even worse. I hated when we had to play co-ed with the boys, because they were just so hardcore and into it. I guess it was pretty awkward for young girls too, you know developing breasts and having to run around with all the boys gawking at you. Most of the time they'd separate the girls fom boys so, P.E wasn't all that bad when they'd do that.
