when I was 20 I went 6 weeks to France by myself.....it was great, met a lot of people. So one year later I did it again, this time three months in Australia.....awesome!

a whole weekend by myself in my apartment without the kids is sufficient enough. i could watch what i want to watch, eat naked, play in makeup and eat and sleep all day without hearing 'ma, ma, ma, ma, ma, uuuh ma'

It can be really fun if you want to relax, or be really active. Try looking for a simple weekend package in a fun city, and then use that time to do things there that you really like, just for yourself... like attend a concert, visit museums, or treat yourself to a sumptous meal somewhere with a picturesue view.

If you're interested in doing something more exotic for a longer period of time, but think you might bore yourself stiff, you can always take advantage of a guided tour travel package, and then that way you can mingle with people of similar travel/cultural intrests...

okay, so maybe I'm just a devil child, but.....

Went to Australia by myself for 10 days...was close to perfection. (altho there are those times when you wish you had someone with you to share certain experiences with). Being "on holiday" by yourself allows you to have the experience undiluted...

I would love to go somewhere alone, but I wouldn't tell my mama. She'd have a heart attack, because she thinks no girl should be out walking the streets alone with all the sickos in the world. True, there are a lot of sickos out there, but you can't live in fear forever, you know.

I am thinking of a holiday on my own..maybe Italy, Its not easy meeting likeminded people so prob best to bite the bullet and go myself before i get to old and have regrets. Anyone been to Rome?
