did you put it in a book? perhaps on top of a closet
or wardrobe (i always put important stuff up high) or maybe it's still in a jacket or pants that you wore last time you had the social security card on you and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I ought to apply for a replacement... I still have my original card, issued in 1986 or early 1987. And my signature at eight years old looks nothing like it does now. Please note: effective March 21, 2010, I've stepped down from my prince.org Moderator position. |

I guess your picture hasn't changed, has it? Social Security cards don't have a picture. They're just paper cards with your name and number, plus a line for your signature. Please note: effective March 21, 2010, I've stepped down from my prince.org Moderator position. |

Your signature is not even a signature....its 3 letters and lines in between...does not qualify as a signature. But I do like your hand writing.

I don't keep it there so I don't lose it! Carrying your Social Security card in your wallet is a bad idea, due to the possibility of identity theft. Similarly, Congress passed a law in 2004 that prohibits states from printing the number on your driver's license or state ID card. (Ironically, in 1997, Congress passed a law that would have required printing the number on them. But this was blocked by another law passed the next year due to identity theft concerns.) Your signature is not even a signature....its 3 letters and lines in between...does not qualify as a signature. Plenty of people have illegible signatures. I intentionally let mine get that way... it's a stylized depiction of my name. With that said, you'll be happy to know that my 1986/87 signature is fully legible. And even today, I sometimes sign letters in a legible manner. But I do like your hand writing.
Thanks. Ironically, I almost never handwrite things (aside from stuff for my own use) because I consider my handwriting too difficult to read. Please note: effective March 21, 2010, I've stepped down from my prince.org Moderator position. |
